Fidelity FX Cast is probably the most common thing that people select in here because, well, it looks very, very good.
It's not an unnatural-looking sharpness; this is sharpness set to 100, so the maximum you can go, and it is looking very crisp with no weird anti-aliasing issues. Yeah, it's definitely a nice setting if you're willing to give up that little bit of performance. What you're less likely to have tried, though, is this Nvidia image scaling setting at Native.
top of the game, and I know that there are plenty of players out there who actually would prefer this look to the Fidelity FX Cast look, but probably you have never tried it, so they give the same performance really within error from my benchmarks, so it's definitely worth going and trying this out and seeing if you like it more than Fidelity FX Cast.
So after all this testing, what are my actual recommendations? Well, if your primary goal is to gain FPS while maintaining a decent level of visual fidelity. I would recommend you either try out Nvidia image scaling set to ultra quality with probably about 70 image scaling sharpness so it's not too sharp, or you also try AMD FSR 1.0 at ultra quality.
Both of these perform very similarly in terms of FPS, and they both give very good image quality in comparison to DLSS and Intel ZEs, which just kill your performance. If instead your main aim is to improve your sharpening and the visual fidelity of the game. I'd recommend you try out Fidelity FX Cast, which you probably already have, but also give this Nvidia image scaling at Native a try.
