On this channel. I upload news and update articles like this when they're not relevant, and more commonly. If you want a good variety of content, you've come to the right channel. But all that being said, let's go ahead and talk about the download size of this new update and what it's going to take you on each platform.
So when it comes to downloading this update on the PS4 version on the PS5, since I'm able to download it early with a PlayStation console, the update was around 14.6 GB, or 14.5 GB, you know. Considering this version, this means that on the PS5, you know, the PS5 version on the Xbox consoles, and then on PC, it could range anywhere from 10 to 20 GB, maybe even 25 GB, so definitely keep that in mind when downloading the update.
If you're wondering when you're going to be able to download and install SL, the update will become available on May 1st at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, so later today, if you're watching the article or you're already able to download SL, install it, and you're just kind of wondering about the content in the article here, so not too huge of an update but definitely kind of sizable.
So now that we know how big the update is and when you're going to be able to install it, let's talk about the actual content within this update, starting with multiplayer stuff. Two new molds are coming, including Minefield, where after you kill your opponents, they actually live, leaving little bouncing betes behind that your opponents are going to die to, which is kind of interesting.
This is going to be a whole Minefield should be a very funny sort of mode to play with, and we also got escort, which is very similar to safeguard, from Black Ops 3, and I believe it was in Black Ops 4 as well, where you escort this little tank to a certain point on the map and you're able to get a whole bunch of kills while you know defending it and everything used to spawn trap on here back in the day it was a pretty fun mode and hopefully it play plays really well here in MW3, now moving on over to the maps.
We got the new map of Grime, which is a 6v6, medium-sized map, and it takes place in London. It comes with a lot of flank points, and I think the layout of the map is very solid. It reminds me of London docks from Call of Duty: World War II, and this one should pretty much play well in my opinion.
We also have the second new map, you know, quote, unquote, which is Checkpoint, which is actually taken from Rebirth. Island the nice little headquarters area or the stronghold area. I should say, so if you played Reer Island, you're kind of familiar with the terrain; they've probably moved some stuff around, and we'll have to wait and see how this one feels.
I don't know if it'll be all that, but maybe it'll surprise us. It's fun in Reir Island. I guess, and maybe it'll be fun in multiplayer, and there's going to be a new arcade playlist during this midseason update that supports a variety of maps and modes featuring power-ups and special weapon pickups.
You can have unlimited ammo, unlimited grenades, freaking special weapon pickups with effects and a floating animation, and you even have special sniper rifles and shotguns with explosive rounds, a minigun with a constant battle rage effect, and a constant refresh on your tax. Sprint has unlimited taxes.
This mode sounds fun and should be pretty fun to mess around with, and since we're in the middle of the Vortex playlist, the Vortex playlist will be present for this next week, which should be pretty fun to mess around with if you've been playing. If you've been playing, in terms of new field upgrades and equipment, we have the new field upgrade of enhanced vision goggles, which is kind of, you know, spot players a little bit easier, and we got the new tactical of the EMD mine, where if you place it somewhere and an enemy trips over it, their position will be revealed for a good amount of time and you'll be able to track them, which is kind of interesting for an equipment.
Now I'm going to skip over the zombie stuff. Basically, what you got to know for zombies is that you got to rescue Dr. Jansen in a new mission, you can earn new schematics, and there's a new warlord of rainmakers. I don't play zombies, so. Not really my forte, though now going over to the war zone stuff, there's a new heavy armor public event.
At the beginning of the game, if it does happen, your number of armor plates will increase to four, which means you can have up to 200 health points for the whole match, which would be pretty interesting. I wonder how this is going to feel for people. Do you want 200 health points in the war zone, or do you want to stay at 150?
It's going to be interesting to see how much longer you can survive, and there's a new bable at the bus stations on Rebirth Island known as the utility box, which gives you ammo. And armor, kind of combining the ammunition box and the armor box together, which should be pretty nice to have on the weapon trade station, is also coming back to Rebirth Island if you didn't play Rebirth Island Back.
Then, basically, the weapon trade station is where you can trade one of your weapons for a new weapon in return of a lower rarity, and maybe some items you can also get specialist from here if you trade in, like a super rare weapon like one of the redactive weapons I'm guessing or a full attachment weapon, so this could be pretty fun to use, and my favorite part of War Zone is being added the new perk package of specialist, which is super rare, and if you manage to pick it up in game, it comes with all available perks in the game.
