News - Why Did People Still Buy Warzone 2
Despite how hardcore this is, enlisted is still accessible because not only is it free, but it's well optimized to run on low-end machines available on consoles, and if you can't aim, you can still help the team in other ways. Personally, I think the game looks great, and I'm blown away at the sheer scale of this, and I got to admit I love the headshot sounds that little.
Is amazing i love a good FPS game, and with a few friends, this is a really good time, so if you guys want to try the game, you can do so for free on PC.
Content vs mechanics
Part two, content versus mechanics. Modern Warfare 3 discourse focuses heavily on the content within the game and not on the mechanics of the game. This isn't a bad way to evaluate a game, but when a article discussing why Modern Warfare 3 was received so poorly spends 40 minutes dissecting its campaign but less than 4 minutes discussing its multiplayer, maps, and movement, they are missing a huge part of the equation.
Most of the discourse has surrounded the content here, and it's important to analyze this, but so little of the discussion is focused on the mechanics—the way you move, how the guns feel, how the game feels—and this is something insanely important to so many players. I know the campaign was bad, and I'm happy to concede that even if I enjoyed some of the missions, we need to again remember that the campaign is only a third of the equation.
With multiplayer taking up significantly more of the player's time, reaching prestige in multiplayer takes longer than the campaign by a wide margin, but I don't think the average player buys Call of Duty for the campaign. There are those that do, and surely even those that buy it for multiplayer end up at least trying the campaign at some point, but the multiplayer has always been the bread and butter, and here's why I think that is mechanics.
The movement and gun feel of Modern Warfare 3 are fundamentally different from Modern Warfare 2, and in my eyes, it's for the better. The progression is also much better this time around. That's a controversial statement, so let's break it down a bit. The progression in previous Call of Duty games was relatively linear; you unlocked guns, perks, score streaks, and more through leveling up.
The big change that Modern Warfare 2 brought was its challenge-based progression. Now, instead of hitting an arbitrary level requirement, you could complete a challenge to unlock whatever gun attachment perk or utility you desired. This, to me, sucked ass because I wanted to use a gun like the AK-47.
A classic i had to level up five different guns just to get there and it meant I spent a majority of the early grinds using guns perks and classes I didn't want to Modern Warfare 3 makes significant changes to this by keeping both the challenges in place but putting every single unlockable behind daily challenges as well at first this sucks now I have to get three Claymore kills before I can unlock a gun what if I don't have the Claymore unlocked, well every one match counts as a daily objective completion meaning if you completed challenges alongside winning the game you can unlock multiple attachments guns and more per game you can also prioritize, what you unlock with your challenges too meaning if I want to use a specific gun attachment perk or whatever I can do so faster here than ever before I've seen people call this system scummy because it's forcing you to play every day like a mobile game but do you guys not remember in Modern Warfare 2019.
When every gun has 60 levels and all the best attachments are at the end of their progression, instead of working 15 minutes a day, I'm working 8-hour shifts to keep up with whatever the meta is. The point is, I like this system more, and progression is such an important part of the multiplayer that I feel is almost always overlooked.
Now let's talk about movement. Gun feel movement has been a point of contention for players because, at its most extreme, it is a bit ridiculous. Slide canceling and looking goofy is fine, but in terms of War Zone, there is utility in it as it originally resets your tactical sprint speed, making crossing larger gaps in your D more manageable.
This feature was removed in Modern Warfare 2, and that was because Modern Warfare 2 aimed to take the series in a more realistic direction. Now movement was more limited; the guns were borderline sucker punching you with each bullet, and to many of myself included, it just felt like a step backwards.
MW3 has returned the faster movement sliding cancelling, and guns now strike a good balance between having realistic recoil but not so much as to impact the players's visibility after firing the first shot. I don't care if it's realistic; even in efforts for realism, we need to draw the line somewhere okay, like I don't care if going Deaf from constantly firing an lmg is realistic; that's not fun.
Something Modern Warfare 3 also brought was fast manliness and climbing. This makes Modern Warfare 3 the first, in my eyes, perfect marriage between the boots on the ground play style and the newfound speed and verticality introduced by the exo suits; again, it isn't realistic. Call of Duty has never been at the forefront of realistic mechanics.
Graphics yeah and the games still look great but mechanically, games like Counter-Strike and Battlefield have been my go-to when it comes to more realistic shooting but this is only one side of the discussion as the other side is being strangely ignored too the reason it's strange is because with the YouTubers making these hit pieces on the game you think they would go for the multiplayers, low hanging fruit like issues with balance aim assist and cheating maybe they didn't play the multiplayer enough to NOS these issues and they focused too much of their efforts on breaking down the campaign the issues of which are significantly easier to spot and [ __ ] on now I need to clarify many of the multiplayer reviews are valid and I don't think reaching max level or getting all the camos is a requisite for understanding the strengths and weaknesses with the multiplayer.
But [__] I have been in the trenches over the last few weeks. Okay, I have grinded on the shipment. I have ground meat. Wait, I have done all the camos. I bought the sergeant sprinkles bundle. Okay, let's not talk about that. And I've seen men be reduced to children throwing tantrums over this game.
There's a whole team. Sitting in a corner, I said, Okay, God, it's just people seeing the building. I need the three of you using the grenade launchers over there to commit suicide, please. Please, at the bottom, you're the biggest I've ever [__] met holy [__] who acts like that. You're a [__], a loser, and a holy [__] and this is not exclusive to them.
