News - What Will Warzone 2 Zombies Be Like A Year
Modern Warfare 3 2023 has been out for just over 2 months now, and when it comes to zombies. I'm sure a lot of us are thinking about how the live servy approach is going, how this game is going to hold up in the long run, and, more specifically, how this game mode is going to hold up a year from now.
I think there's two answers to this, and it's either going to look like this or like this, but to answer that question, we've got to go back to when Modern Warfare Zombies came out. I'm making it sound like it's some ancient dinosaur of a game, so on December 10th, when the game came out, I woke up at 5:00 a.
M to play it and make articles about it like a degenerate and the general Vibes. The game wasn't bad, but it could have had a lot more work done to it. Quality of life issues were getting on people's nerves but then there were the Heavy Hitters like the bugs glitches, lagging which would then lead into the infamous server crashes which given how many times that happens it's enough to give someone PTSD, seriously though after enough of those server crashes something in you just snaps and you're never the same person again people were getting into the flow of the game learning all of the little tips and tricks and the side Easter eggs working their way to getting those cutcenes at the end of each Act and then having nothing to do I mean you could grind for camos but when it comes to actual zombies content, there was nothing the good news is season 1 was right around the corner coming out on December 6th we had a new Story Mission the new wonder weapon in the form of the vr11.
Weapon schematics prestige challenges and very recently we've had a new boss added to the game which sadly it's a MK boss so my life's gotten a little bit darker know in that because I would so much rather have a zombie boss but that's besides the point with the heaviest hitter we got in this list being The Ether Rifts, which essentially, acted as a tier 4 Zone this was made for the end Gamers these were the people that finished the acts and were about to put the game down and open Boulders Gate 3 until it was announced that yeah we were getting this endgame content and there would be much more purpose to the game now we also got some new schematics to play around with like the golden armor plate The Ether blade and the dog bone which once again more interesting, and more fun than I initially thought they were going to be we basically had a Christmas dinner fed to us because we ate well with this content there was nothing mindblowing.
But it was still better than what Red Dead Online ever got, which hurts to say. We also got a Christmas update, which personally, in my opinion, I think was lacking. I think it was very late. I mean, sure, the hellhounds did have the cute little antlers to look like reindeer, and the zombies did have the goofy Santa hats on, but there was so much more that I think they could have done to make this feel more like Christmas and less like Midas.
Snow on the map. I think that would have been great and made the map feel way more festive. Second, I think snowballs needed something to do; they were useless, and I don't mean the fun kind of useless; they were so bad they weren't even worth picking up for shits and giggles. I think the only other thing it needed was a Santa to fly overhead and drop some presents.
Care package style: just those little changes would have made It's way better in my opinion and feels much more like Christmas, but regardless, the game did get that Christmas update, and alongside the content we have so far with this season, it's shaping up pretty well. But the question is, right now, what is going on?
Well, we're getting closer and closer to the end of season 1, and there are things getting patched, fixed, buffed, and even nerfed, which a lot of people aren't very happy about. The game is being worked on; it's being updated very frequently, it seems, but the Unstoppable. Force that ever-impending doom, that is, the server Crushers, is still plaguing this game and ascending just about all of us over the edge.
It's making us go insane because we still haven't got a fix for this yet, and the Cod developers are fully aware of this. It seems like they're so aware of this that they've been trying to compensate for the frustration and hours of loot grinding lost by giving everyone that logs on and finishes a match within a certain amount of time-free stuff.
And I'm not talking about anything; I'm talking about some good stuff, such as three legendary ether tools, three flawless ethereum crystals, which basically give you Pack-A-Punch level three, and one of each wonder weapon case. Although they do say on their Twitter page that this is because of how fun the game has been so far and the celebration of the launch.
I really do think this is meant to be compensation and an apology, if you will, for these server issues, and speaking of those, it means there's so much more that needs to be done. I don't really think Modern Warfare 3: Zombies is the kind of game that is ever going to feel complete; it's always going to need some updates, patch content drops, and more challenges and things to do and interact with, which would be great if Treyarch were going to keep developing this, but as we know, this isn't their zombies game technically.
Infinity Wards is modern warfare's own zombies, which means that once Trio's new Cod title launches this year in 2024 and it has zombies in it, they'll probably have to leave behind a small team to keep working on Modern Warfare 3 zombies and then put most, if not all, of their focus onto their new Zombies mode that we are all waiting for in eager anticipation, crossing our fingers hoping this year is going to be the year.
I think it would be silly to make a article like this and not mention the other extraction mode we just had that is very similar to Modern Warfare zombies, and that is DMZ. DMZ, just like this Modern Warfare Zombies title, is not only a similar gameplay loop with the extraction mode elements in there, but most importantly, here it is a live service game mode.
If I remember correctly, we were about a year into DMZ, and all of a sudden the development for it just got cut; there was no new content, no reason to log on to it anymore, and now all I can assume is that there's going to be a very small community around it now that still actively plays the game.
It'll then get infiltrated with hackers, and eventually Infinity Ward is going to pull the plug and turn the lights out, and we'll never be able to play DMZ. Again and with the zombie mode we have now, which is so similar to this, that makes me a little worried. I know it's Treyarch that is technically developing it, but it is Infinity Wards.
