News - Warzone 2's Final Content Update Is Here. The Haunting Event Update 1. 29
Instead of just the players running at you now, we also see new gameplay features coming. Thematically changed are things like the field upgrade boxes, the bloodseeker, tactical equipment, and the thermal weapons in War Zone, as well as the haunted box.
The new gameplay features of the haunting in modern warfare 2 & warzone
A new field upgrade is something that refills armor plates, ammunition, and equipment, so the war zone acts as an all-in-one. But it said a fair warning: players may want to brace for an unexpected event when that opens, so maybe a jump scare; it's not available in DMZ.
The bloodseeker's new tactical equipment is a grenade that will help you find enemies in a dark environment, again not available in the DMZ, and the thermal weapons A new loot is something that just has more thermal weapons for that nighttime aesthetic that can be immediately noted by camo on the weapons that are only available in the Haunting themed war zone maps, so you're not going to see that in things like Shikawa Island or anything now.
Beyond that, the update changed a few other things in regards to bug fixes, but the biggest one to me in terms of significant value is a reduction in reinforcement flares in Al Maaz Battle Royale. So, I am not a huge fan of that change, but I guess it is what it is there.
What the haunting event does not bring to modern warfare 2 & warzone
But that's your update for the haunting event here within Modern Warfare 2 and the war zone now notably absent.
Here are a few things. Number one, we have no new weapons this mid-season. We have no new maps this mid-season; we have no new midseason camo challenges like we've seen all the way back since season 2 reloaded. Now yes, we do have a universal camo coming as a part of the rewards for The Haunting event next week and something you can redeem for souls collected and then banked and purchased with, but you're still missing out on comparatively at least one other camo along the way, and on top of that, we don't even have any new weapon tuning to note, though that is detailed to become later in season in air quotes.
So anytime between now and the launch of Modern Warfare 3, it seems like, but honestly. Kind of disappointing. Final update for Modern Warfare 2, if you ask me, kind of seeing it sunset it off, but I think that kind of summarized the whole year, if I can be brutally honest with you, kind of delivering for what we would have hoped to see, but I guess that is what it is one thing that I will leave you with, and a final note is that if you want to try this out but ultimately find that you're like, yeah.
I'm not really going back to playing Moder Warfare 2 too much. I enjoyed Modern Warfare 3 in the feel of that way too much to.
A reminder about the season 6 battle pass's length in modern warfare 2
Go back and play this if that's kind of how you feel if you haven't completed your battle pass by the launch of Modern Warfare 3, but you want that gear that comes with it. No worries because while season 6 ends during the launch window of Modern Warfare 3, the battle pass itself will be active until the launch of season 1 in Modern Warfare 3, with progress being made during that game, counting towards your earned play for Modern Warfare 2's battle pass, so you can still earn those items.
Ultimately, that may be what I do; I'm not even a single tier into The Season's battle pass just yet, from all the traveling I did at the beginning of the season the last few weeks to now gearing up for my wedding this weekend. I've had just enough time to play the beta, and that's it. I have not played Modern Warfare for 2 years yet, so that's probably what I'm going to be doing.
