It still slaps, but it received a few natural Nerfs from 150. Health in this game: in Modern Warfare 2, the ftac could only take one shot to the head; now it can no longer do that. It's also the only battle rifle with 10 in the mag instead of 20, and since it takes one more shot to kill, you're going to have stopping power per mag.
Those are really the only downsides. The FTAC is still incredibly strong; it has faster handling and is tied with the TAC V for the fastest reloading class. I actually recommend you try it in full auto. It was hard to handle in Modern Warfare 2, but it's so much easier in Modern Warfare 3; it's a four- to five-shot kill in full auto-time out to 300 or 400 milliseconds, and this is actually killing faster than most rifles in this game except for our battle rifle at the number one spot.
Switching the FTAC to semi-auto will reduce it to a three- to four-shot kill, and in this mode, it can actually outgun the number one battle rifle. The three-shot requires chest and up, though, so it can be inconsistent, and this is actually another carry-forward downside. I forgot to mention that in Modern Warfare 2, it could twoot anywhere to the upper body instead of being chested up like it is right now in Modern Warfare 3, but overall, the FTE Recon is a fast-killing weapon.
I encourage you to use it in semi-auto if you can, and even if you don't land your chest shots, the FTE is still going to be a top-tier weapon. That brings us to the number one weapon. I have more worst-to-best in the works for Modern Warfare 3. At the number one spot, the best battle rifle in the game and arguably one of the best weapons in the game is the bass B.
This is the one and only five-star battle rifle. The only downside to the bass B is that it defaults with a 20-round mag that, if you try to compensate, introduces minor mobility penalties. This goes for all battle rifles, but I mentioned that for the bass B because this weapon is on another level and it's competing with assault rifles instead of battle rifles outside of one shot.
The bass B is outgunning every weapon in the game except for five weapons, and those five weapons are mostly like one-time nich scenarios. For example, the WSP Swarm SMG outguns the bass B within 5 m. I truly meant no scenarios when I said bass B absolutely dominates.
