News - Warzone 2: New Close Range Meta Loadouts. Best Setups After Update. Huge Fennec Nerf
The close-range meta here in Warzone 2 got a bit more competitive because of the Season Two update, and we saw some nerfs to a handful of SMGs, though, curiously enough, the most severe nerfs were not to the SMGs that really needed to be nerfed.

Now, curiously enough, with the patch to patch the voznev, it actually ended up getting a nerf that basically hurt its mid- to long-range damage properties.
For close range, it's still very good now that its close range damage drop-offs are a little bit more noticeable now once you get to 15/20/25 meters, but for the ultra close range meta, the Voz Nev is still right there with things like the fennec it's drop off like I mentioned is just not going to be as friendly anymore but, still a very good option for a super aggressive player if you're playing on a chica or if you're playing on all masra and are always trying to bridge the gap between your enemies.

As well, here I got the true tac grip again for better ads and Sprint to fire tuning to maximize, so even more I went for the R7 stock, which again is based around mobility because frankly.
I find this weapon very easy to use. In this case. I go for the slightly better stability just for some consistency, maybe some of the mid-range, and the slightly better ads: Speed Olay. Laser, the equivalent of seven milliwatts for the faster ads, and for Sprint to fire, you're going to do this on all of our setups.
Today, basically, we're tuning to maximize those properties even more. Shark fins under the barrel are a nice choice just because you can get some free mobility stats out of this and get some better stability with no real cons. This thing's not going to hurt your gun in any major way right then, and lastly, I do go for the cast-one barrel.
This is meant for damage range, which will be a little bit more important now because the Nerf is for that mid-range damage, so that helps out some, and you can tune this for better mobility, so you don't necessarily lose as much out of the cons here as you would otherwise without the tuning right.
So a very consistent setup here, and like I said, great for running and gunning, flying, and frying for close range.

It's a fantastic option. Now the close-range meta does not only consist of SMGs, which hasn't been the case in a war zone previously, but right now we've got a healthy mix of some AR SMGs, hybrids, some SMGs, and even a shotgun coming up here in just a second, but first, before we get there, we gotta make a quick pit stop here with the Chimera, which is my favorite close-range weapon honestly because it's good in close range and it's good in the mid-range, so this is especially prime for like sniper support, and frankly, the Chimera outgun things like the Fennec like the VA passed.
You know, 10 to 15 to 20 meters because it's going to be more reliable since it is a rifle; it's not nearly as fast, but this setup is very aggressive and perfect for close range in my opinion. I got the Bruin flash grip on here with better ads and Sprint to Fire in iTunes for the faster sprint to fire, then I went for some recoil, setting this just for that mid-range to keep it reliable.
45-round magazine, just your basic extended magazine there, and the Edge 47, under the barrel, is going to give you some recoil stabilization and make this gun a little bit easier to use. If you wanted to drop this for something like a laser, you absolutely could; that would not be a bad idea at all.
Even a stock potentially going for like the Ravage here, which is better for movement, that's certainly a good option too, Zack, and Shred 40. For some basic control, you could also tune this for better ads. If you wanted to just depend on your level of comfortability with the gun. I don't really think there's a wrong answer here, and then lastly, the Vorpal barrel, which basically brings back all the movement that we lose with our under barrel and muzzle and also gives us a slightly better damage range in ads. This in particular is one of my favorite guns in the game right now; it just feels so reliable, consistent , and dominant.

Now, another build extremely similar to the Chimera, and another gun extremely similar to the Chimera, is the 74U. Also phenomenal for this AR SMG is a hybrid style of play with some close range and some mid-range in there, as well as low recoil. It's not as mobile as some of the subs, but it makes up for it with damage.
I would say for sure you get past that 10 meter mark where all the SMGs start to drop off a lot more harshly, you got the camera, you got the Sony before you, not really following that same trend since they are rifles now this setup has been changed in quite some time because if it ain't broke you don't gotta fix it right.
R7, Stock here better Mobility is something we're tuning to maximize even more. I go for the demo X2 grip, which will help with the control, so I actually go ahead and tune it. For Mobility here with those ads and Sprint to fire to pretty much gain all that back, you're getting a lot of solid pros out of this 45-round mag.
No need to explain that, right? Olay, laser here for the snappier ads, better Sprint to fire tuning to maximize those yet again, and then the 209 Barrel is all movement-based, with better movement speed overall, which is great and a better ad, so again it's a snappier tune for the even faster ads, and then I go for a little bit of recoil steadiness because, why not, you like that consistency in the mid-range? This, like I said, is very much interchangeable with the Chimera; a lot of preference is based on knowing which one feels better and which one you're more comfortable running, but they're both great for close range.

Now, as I mentioned, we do have one shotgun on the list today, the KV broadside.
This thing is by far the best shotgun here in Warzone, and it's really good for close range just because you can spam it. You can't get one shot with this just like you can't get one shot with any of the other shotguns against a fully plated enemy, but the fire rate makes up for that because you can spam it and get that super quick kill, whereas the other shotguns are not going to have that capability necessarily.
