News - The Warzone 2 Christmas Update
This is DK Dynamite, and this morning we're going to be talking about everything to expect in the huge Christmas update coming to Modern Warfare 3. Hour on detonated Twitter now, and I do want to remind you guys.
Christmas update is not season 1 reloaded
The Christmas update coming to MW3, is not and I mean is not the season one reloaded update that is also coming to this game early next year as you can see in the battle pass menu you can clearly see that we have a Christmas tab which does confirm the event is going to start in 8 days or about 7 when you guys are probably watching this article it's going to be starting on December the 20th, if you also go over to the event tab it also mentions the upcoming Santa's Sligh ground event but also in the battle pass you could notice a classified sector which does confirm when reloaded begins, in around 30 days time so the classified sector will open up with likely other DLC weapons, like we've seen with previous Modern Warfare 2 seasons, and the event itself should begin December 20th 9:00 a.
M pacific which is 11:00 Central and 12:00. Eastern I'll be making a separate article at some point soon, probably at the end of this year, talking more about what to expect in the midseason 1 update, which is going to be for MW3, and even War Zone.
Preload for the mw3 christmas event
As far as the preload goes for the upcoming Christmas update, I would expect it to pop up in the next couple of days.
As I'm posting this article, it'll pop up first, likely on PlayStation, and will be found by PlayStation size. Over on Twitter, he'll make a tweet about that, talking about exactly what the update is. I believe he just found an update for MW3. A couple of days ago. I don't believe this one's been installed yet, but it's unclear if this one is the Christmas update since, as of now.
I believe the usual leakers and data miners found several references to the Christmas event and some early details, but I don't think the entirety of the Christmas update is in the current patch that we have for MW3. Battle Net should also be seeing this preload right before we end up seeing the update on December 20th.
As far as Steam and Xbox go, they typically don't get preloads, but never say never. However, we should all get access to all the content again the morning of December 20th, so before , we get into the actual content for the Christmas update.
Santa gnaws ultra skin bundle previewed
I do want to mention the two Christmas bundles we know of as of right now that should be dropping at some point in season 1. We first have the Santa NS bundle, which will cost either $2400 or $2800.
Cod points out the reason why there's a chance it'll be extremely expensive. This is because the bundle does come with an ultra skin, so the Santa NS operator is going to be a skin for Klouse, who is a holiday theme operator who we saw added in Modern Warfare 2 last year. All the holiday skins, or almost all of them, were released as variants of Klouse.
The same deal goes for this bundle, except that the fact that it's an ultra skin means that it's probably going to be a more expensive pack like the other ultra skin bundles are for MW3. The bundle will also come with AR and SMG blueprints, both featuring horrifying holiday tracers. We're also going to be seeing three brain-rot ammo mod acquisitions, which are going to be useful for zombies, but once you use those acquisitions, that's going to be it.
That's all the bundle comes with. You don't have unlimited brain-rot acquisitions by buying this bundle, and the pack will also feature a decal charm emblem and even a sticker, but something pretty.
Paindeer operator skin bundle revealed
Funny is that during a private capture event over at Sledgehammer Studio, this was for MW3 season 1, some of the creators got to notice what is called the pain deer bundle.
We didn't get a full preview of the pack or any of their gameplay, but it's a pretty funny-looking bundle that clearly shows a giant cosplay. It's going to be a reindeer outfit for an operator, and it's going to be crazy to see something kind of similar to the bunny rabbit outfits or some of the other animals we've seen added throughout MW3's life cycle.
This pack will probably end up costing upwards of 1,800, probably not 2400 Cod points. I would have hoped that it could have gone live on, like December 13th, to at least release a good week and a half before actual Christmas, but I guess it's still right on time. Just a couple of days before the actual holiday, we should be seeing this event start inside of MW3.
Shipment & highrise christmas reskins
Now going into more of the content, we're going to be seeing Christmas map reskins for at least two multiplayer maps. First up, high-rise; it's going to be known as a hangover. There's an image of this map that was put in the recent blog post, and the image itself wasn't even talking about the map, but it was more so mentioning one of the upcoming weapons in season 1 or one of the ones that already dropped, and in the background you could see a holiday reskin of Highrise.
On top of that, we're also going to be seeing, as we traditionally see, a Christmas variant of shipment; it's going to be known as a ship. Miss we've seen this a number of times already in several previous cods, and a regular 6v6 shipment is already live inside of MW3 multiplayer via the carry forward feature, so I'm sure once the patch does go live for this Christmas update, hopefully you can't install it early so we could avoid leaks, but I'm sure right when the update does drop, we'll be able to access this match right away in private matches, maybe a day or two before the actual event begins, but maybe they'll just end up saving the maps themselves for the actual start of the event on December 20th.
I'll keep you guys posted on that one, but I'm sure there is some gameplay out there on Twitter already if somebody is forced to load it if these maps are already in the files. I'm not a leaker, so I wouldn't know, but we're also going to be seeing Santa's Slayer, a challenge event for multiplayer, and something similar for the War Zone. It's unclear if zombies will also get a separate series of challenges; that's not been confirmed, but we do know we're getting challenges for at least MP and War Zone, so the challenge event inside of multiplayer will be known as CODM Miss.
Codmas 12 day challenge event coming
It's been confirmed to be a 12-day celebration, according to the season 1 blog post, and I believe somewhere it was mentioned that you'll get a boost for playing as the Santa NS operator.
