News - I Didn't Like The Warzone 2i Campaign

Intro

Intro

The campaign for the brand new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is by far one of the weakest campaigns within the franchise. It really does pain me to say it because I really enjoyed the Modern Warfare 2019 campaign, and I do think the Modern Warfare 2 follow-up was decent in its own way, but Modern Warfare 3 was just one big utter disappointment, and I have got to talk about it today.

We're going to go over all the positives of the game because there are some good things to talk about for this campaign, and there's also a bunch of negatives that we will be talking about as well. Of course, keep in mind that this is just for the campaign; this is not talking about multiplayer zombies or any of that stuff that will be coming at a later date, so let's get into it.

Also, we will be talking about spoilers, so if you haven't played the game yet, do not watch this article.

Positives

So, starting off with the positives, although I will consistently say in the negative section that this game is very uneventful and does not have that many interesting moments. I will say there's a couple missions that I did enjoy.

The opening mission was pretty decent; that's the one of course at the gulg; the flasho mission, which took place in Verdansk at the stadium, was also really cool; there's a couple cool moments there; and the final mission honestly was pretty cool as well, so there's a couple moments there that I do enjoy, so don't act like I think everything in this game was awful.

There's definitely some decent missions that were fun and do have some interesting moments to them, although I do prefer Modern Warfare 2's campaign. I do think this feels like a proper continuation of Modern Warfare 2019. More so than Modern Warfare 2 felt like because Modern Warfare 2 went in a very different Direction with the story and didn't really feel like it connected to that game as much but this one actually feels much more connected especially with far's character far was far superior in this game than she was in Modern Warfare 2 she was barely in Modern Warfare 2 and I'm not sure if that was because, maybe the voice actress wasn't as available as she was maybe for this game I don't know but her involvement in this game is really good she's actually one of the better characters in this game and I also do like price in this game although you know he's obviously going to be a badass no matter what but I do think they actually do a couple of things with this character that are interesting, and I also loved how these characters had to actually work with Shephard and Graves, especially after what happened in the last game so that was a cool aspect of this campaign as well which happened for a couple of the missions macarov is a decent villain here but he's definitely underutilized.

black ops cold war

He's pretty cool in a couple of the cut scenes he is used in, but let's be real. Here, the third act, actually the second and third acts of this campaign, just completely butchers him; he's just not even there anymore, and he just kind of has this one little moment at the very end where he kills Soap and then runs off; it's very anticlimactic, for a campaign that was marketed as being this big expansive event and just led to that.

I'm sorry I'm getting into the negatives already; we're not even there yet, but that was just one thing I wanted to mention: I did like his character when he was in the game. And I thought the voice actor did a great job with it of course this goes with literally any Call of Duty campaign the graphics were amazing there's not a single campaign I've ever played in Call of Duty where I didn't think the graphics were really good for its time so just got to point that out of course, and the gameplay I do enjoy as well in terms of just like it's you know it's Call of Duty right it's a Call of Duty campaign it's very rare I'm not going to enjoy a Call of Duty campaign, going through missions you know firing at bad guys like it's a fun thing to do and I'm going to enjoy it no matter what but obviously when you compare it to other campaigns that's where it starts to falter , and so let's now get into the negatives because there's a lot we're going to talk about here for starters one of the biggest things I need to point out is that this campaign feels incredibly, rushed, and Incredibly cheap it just has less of that like cinematic.

Negatives

Negatives

Call of Duty feels like there's not much intensity to the storyline, not many big events. Like, just think back to any other Call of Duty campaign like infinite Warfare having these big moments with space ships crashing into each other or like big battles in the original Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3, and obviously the storyline a lot of the time doesn't really call for that there's no war going on in this game like a large-scale war, so yeah, it makes sense we're not having consistent battles in this game.

But it just feels that way. Small scale and just kind of plain compared to what a lot of other Call of Duty games have to offer, and of course, this being a modern warfare game, you would expect some of that from it, and I would say the last two warfare games in this rebooted trilogy do have more of those moments; there are more moments where you feel more like a cinematic.

black ops cold war zombies

Yes, this game doesn't really have that. Yes, like I said, there's some exceptions, like I do think the stadium mission was cool and the whole passenger scene on the plane, which was basically their version of No Russian. There are a couple of moments, sure, but they are few and far between when you compare them to literally any other Call of Duty game.

Most of the missions are not that unique; they're very simplistic. Just okay, you're here, and you have to get from point A to point B, and you kill enemies on the way there. There's really no interesting gameplay elements that are introduced; everything is just kind of the same stuff we've expected from prior Call of Duty campaigns, but stripped down to the point where you don't even have nearly as much of it; there's just some aspects of it, but it doesn't really do anything interesting; there's no mission where I'm like.

blackout

That's a really cool idea, that's a really cool concept. And now is a great time to talk about the open combat missions because I believe this is one of the worst parts of this campaign. It wouldn't be a big deal if these were like side quests. I think that would actually be really cool if these were side quests, but they are half of the game's main story quests.
