We're back from article, and today I'm going to show you guys the absolute best settings to run inside of Modern Warfare 3 for the best aim, the best response type, and overall, just the best experience. I post daily content on Modern Warfare 3 over on Tik Tok. Without do let's go ahead and get into these game breaking settings and I hope you guys enjoy, now the first thing I'm going to go ahead and recommend to everyone is to make sure you have the right settings we're going to go over the right settings and what you should and should not have on and this is going to help you not only get better at the game but it's going to make things easier so let's go ahead and get started with that first things first once you're in the game and head over to your settings window, once in the settings window you want to go down to controller when you're in the controller tab you want to start from top to bottom right here make sure your aiming input device is set to controller.
Edit button layout: This is pretty much my preference. I play tactical. I think if you don't have paddles, you should be playing tactical, but nonetheless, bumper ping, I have set off flip L1 L2 R1 R2. Make sure that is off. This is only good if you don't have instant triggers, which some people don't.
Pretty much make it to where, as soon as you click the trigger, it instantly clicks and there's no delay. If you don't have instant triggers, I would recommend turning this on and just getting used to it. It pretty much flips your aiming and shooting to the P bumpers, and it flips your grenades and tacticals and everything to the triggers.
That's what moves on from there. Stick layout preset Make sure this is set to default. I wouldn't touch any of this if you did; it's pretty much a preference. Moving on from there, make sure you have controller vibration off along with trigger effects. Both will just negatively affect your controller.
Don't have these on at all; it's just not good to have them on. Moving on from there, we want to go to Dead Zone inputs. These are your dead zones. This is going to help your goal significantly. If you have these on default, that's probably why your aim is suffering, because pretty much what a dead zone does is determine how much your stick has to move for it to actually register.
Okay, this is working. This is what I need to do, and the game registered it, so with Modern Warfare 3, they went ahead and added the test stick Dead Zone, which pretty much allows you to see if you have stick drift. This is very important because it allows you to see how low you can go without it being a problem, because a lot of people don't know what stick drift is.
As long as you have a controller, the longer you have it, it's going to gain stick drift. That's just how it works; that's how they design controllers, unfortunately. But I always like to tell people that it's okay to have some stick drift, and what I mean by that is for me. I just got this controller a few months ago, so it barely has any, if any.
Right, so I'm able to put my dead zones down to zero. Don't just copy what I have here. Go ahead and put on the test stick Dead Zone and turn down your left minimum and your right minimum all the way down until these are not moving. If you have stick drift, it'll move like this sometimes, or it'll just keep moving right.
So turn these down as low as possible; everything else remains the same besides your left stick. Max, make sure this is set to 70. I wouldn't go any lower than this because some players, like mine, have a little stick drift on the left stick, not really on the right, so it'll move forward without me touching it if I go lower than 70.
Like I said, try not to turn this down too low; this pretty much just means how much your stick has to move for your character to be in a full sprint. That's all that really does—everything else. Left triggers and right triggers: make sure they're set to zero. It really doesn't matter if you have instant triggers; just set them to zero anyway for good practice.
Moving on to the bread and butter of your controller, which is your aiming sensitivity and your aiming type, this matters a lot for new players and old players, so if you are an unexperienced player and you're just coming into the game with a brand new face, or hell, even if you're just new to controller, what I would personally recommend is to start on a 66 multiplier, and do not go any higher or lower than that, and just get to use 66, which allows you to be fast and accurate without having any downsides.
It also gives you a lot more stickiness on your aim assist than if you were to go higher, because obviously, if you go higher on your sensitivity, the less aim assist you get, so just keep that in mind. Obviously, you can turn these up or down depending on your play style, but if you're brand new, start at 66 and don't really go any higher than that.
I put mine at 66, and I haven't really noticed any downside to having it at 66. I don't feel too slow. I don't feel too fast; it feels perfect for me, but other than that, just leave it at that. I leave my ad sensitivity multiplayer at 1.0; now, if you are having problems, where. Are you you feel like your aiming is too fast, but you feel like you want to be fast when you're on ads.
You could turn this down, but if it's vice versa, say, for instance, your aiming is too slow, you can turn this up to give you faster ads. All this does is affect your ads. That's all it does. I leave mine at 1.0, and moving on from there, I don't touch anything else; everything else is default besides the aim response curve.
Make sure this is set to dynamic. Now there are some TikTokers and some articles that I'll try to tell you to put on. Go to Dynamic and set this to 0.5. Don't waste your time; it doesn't do anything. Put it in dynamic mode and leave it at that, moving from there. Make sure your sensitivity transition timing is set to instant.
I think by default this is set to gradual, and this will gradually ramp up your sensitivity to your ideal sensitivity, which is 66. As you say, this is going to make it to the point where you can't get any muscle memory, and it's going to take you way longer to get better at the game than if you were to have it on instant, so make sure it's on instant.
Moving on from there, custom sensitivity pre This is pretty much it; if you turn it on, you can affect each. 3x 2x 4x 5x each individual site on how much sensitivity it has I don't really need to see the need, so I just leave it out by default. Target aim assist: make sure this is set to the aim assist type.
