News - Are Shotguns Overpowered Modern Warfare 3. Shotgun Overview (warzone 2i 2023 Beta)
Of the two, which I'm okay with, this is a spammy shotgun, and these you have to keep in check very well. It's really easy to make these things overpowered, and it's also really easy to make them pretty crappy, and so far, I think they did a good job with this one. Up close and personal, it's taken about two to three shots to kill.
From what I can tell, I don't think it can take one shot, but it's hard to tell in a public beta where people are jumping around. It's really hard to tell that, but I was getting two to three shot kills, and if I was barrel stuffing, it was very effective, killing people out to about 5 meters. Mark was very easy to do with this thing now once you start pushing past that range, though it's going to start to feel very hit-and-missy, and this gun does have a lot of kick if you're using it with its iron sights, which are very obstructive.
It can be a little hard to aim down sights, so sometimes you might need to use a sight for this thing, but I did notice. Yes, at ranges, this thing was very hit-and-miss, which is a good thing; it's not a bad thing. It really emphasizes you having to close the gap and really hit your shots up close and personal, so you're not just spamming away and killing someone 10 meters away with a couple shots.
No, it's not going to work like that. This thing is going to give you a lot of hit markers at range. Do not try to push range with this thing. I'm telling you, it's probably not going to be good for you. Now there are some cool attachments I want to point out with this one in particular, and the first one I want to mention is a 410 gauge ball ammo type, which, if you may remember, is the buck and slug from Vanguard.

That is essentially what this is; it basically loses some pellets, but you get like a sort of slug hybrid projectile in there, and that's essentially what this is, but I did notice you only seem to get one projectile with two pellets.
Now, this may sound really cool, but in practical use, I had a hard time using it, and it may be that my aim is way off. Maybe I was hit firing too much and it's only got like two pellets or three in total, so it's a little odd, but I did not feel good at all with this thing; it did not feel good no matter what I tried to do with this thing, aim down sight or kit for recoil.
I just did not feel good at all. Maybe you guys can have better luck with it, but I don't recommend using it right off the bat. I think this one could use a little bit of love. Maybe the slug needs to do more damage or something, but it's a tricky thing to balance. I understand that now we also have 410-gauge slugs, and these actually felt very good.
They felt more akin to the Jack 12 slugs from Modern Warfare 2019. And honestly, this might be my favorite way to run the shotgun; it felt the most consistent and rewarding at ranges. Yes, you're going to still get a little bit of hit markers, but not nearly as bad as if you're using the base ammo or, God forbid, 410 gauge ball attachment slugs.
In my opinion, the way to go is to just make sure you're using a sight on this thing because the iron sights are not very good at all, and I do not recommend them. There is also dragon breath, but I don't have that unlocked. I can't test it, and I can't give you my thoughts on it, so I can't really say for certain anything about it, but there is also a 30-round magazine, which is, yep, 30 rounds.
We have another spammy shotgun with a ton of ammo, but again, I think that they're doing a good job of keeping it in check because it's very hit-markery at ranges, and this thing really only excels. Very close out to maybe 5 m or maybe eight pushing it. I'm just kind of throwing arbitrary numbers based on how it felt in the game, so just keep that in mind.
This is more for if you want to have fun, go around and slide, cancel, and spam your shotgun. This is more for that, but you really have to focus on closing that gap, and again, for the 10th time, do not push range with this thing. So that's just about going to do it for this article.
