News - A First Look At The New Warzone 2 Season 2 Weapons
So season 2 has been fully detailed and revealed for Modern Warfare 3 in the war zone. Thursday, when we talked about it and had it revealed, we had a ton of stuff to go over that we didn't quite get to mention much of what to expect. Weaponry wise, instead of in the interest of time, I mentioned the weapons at a basic and like top-down view only.
Check out my friends over at Gamer Advantage. Right now, for a very limited time—just a few more hours here on the sale—the augment frames are 75%. Off your entire order and 85% off with code espresso, genuinely the biggest discount they've ever had. We're getting back into the swing of things.
We love to chat with you guys while we go live, but anyways, for now, let's jump into the new weapons of season 2 in Modern Warfare 3 and War Zone.
The launch weapons in season 2 of modern warfare 3 & warzone (bp50 & ram 9)
Let's start out with the launch weapons. Here we have two coming at launch, both in the battle pass, the BP50 and the ram 9, now the BP50 is an assault rifle. This is one that we've actually seen. Relatively recently, this was added to Vanguard in the final season of season 5 a couple of years ago, where it's described now in this go around a modular Bullpup chambered in 556.
Tear down the competition with a high rate of fire and exceptional accuracy for dominating at mid- to long ranges for operators needing optimal mobility from their weaponry. The BP50 is a spectacular contender. Offering exceptional maneuverability and a spectacular rate of fire compared to other rifles in its class, this Corvis-built armor can cut down the opposition in a variety of rapid and impressive ways, so while we don't have too much information beyond that, it's a 5.56 Bullpup weapon with a high rate of fire and decent accuracy.
Again, having seen this one so recently in Vanguard. I'm kind of inclined to think this is going to act exactly the same way, meaning that it is going to be something that, at mid-range, is absolutely a solid choice. Will it be an overall meta? I think that if we're looking at it in the sense of Modern Warfare 3 MP, it absolutely can be a contender, but if you're looking at it in, say, a war zone, my guess initially speaking is that it's going to be a decent sniper support weapon.
It might not necessarily be the best in terms of damage per round simply because you have that high rate of fire, but because you have that high rate of fire, it kind of makes up for it in that regard, so depending on how the accuracy and the ranges work out in regards to everything, it might not be a bad medium-range weapon here at that now the ram 9 is an SMG.
Something that may seem kind of odd—we just saw the ram 7 introduced with season 1, but this is also coming in the battle pass. The Ram 9 is described as more maneuverable and agile than its assault rifle counterpart. This Bullpup SMG chambered in 9mm is lethal at close range, offering among the best in-class recoil control and mobility, as well as the most rounds in reserve of any SMG.
The ram 9 may not win any pinpoint accuracy rewards especially at distance but it's certainly a weapon that can mow down the opposition with high damage chamber emptying assaults especially as you close in for the kill so they kind of double down on the fact that this is a Close Quarters weapon here at this stating that it is for close range but also at a distance it's not going to be accurate so the way that I kind of see this one going, is similar to what we saw with maybe like the Swarm or something like that very fast firing very powerful up close but after like probably 10 m, it's not going to be your go-to weapon that depending on how weapon balancing goes within the season 2 update may still go to the AMR if you're looking for a longer range SMG.
How to earn the new season 2 weapons in modern warfare 3 & warzone (bp50 & ram 9)
But the RAM 9 will be available in that battle pass, and these have both already been detailed in the blog post revealing Modern Warfare 3 season 2; we actually saw the overview of the battle pass coming with this update where the battle pass will have the BP50 set at sector B7 and the RAM 9 at sector B6, now based off the battle pass image presented again in that blog, they are opposite ends of that initial fork in the road from where you start, and now it will take about 25 to 30 tier tokens to get both of those depending on how you want to unlock them and if you take any deviations.
But, however, for those who want to buy the premium version, the black cell. Well, that is where we actually do see one of the very few added benefits here. If you ever do pick up Black Cell, it is an option that, of course, does give you a little bit of a bonus and Head Start here on, but those are the weapons at launch now in season, and we will see two more coming throughout season.
The in-season weapons in season 2 of modern warfare 3 & warzone (soa subverter & soulrender)
The S SOA subverter has a battle rifle, and the Soul renders melee; now the S SOA subverter says it's chambered in 762 and has a hard-hitting rifle dominating at mid- to long-ranges thanks to a low rate of fire and predictable recoil, excellent rate of fire and accuracy, manageable recoil control, and Best in Class Sprint to Fire and movement speeds.
This also offers excellent headshot and Target Flinch potential; even in its base state with some fine tuning, this could be a contender for the optimal battle rifle if you can mitigate the more leisurely ad speed that is This one is certainly interested to see how this plays around because you have things like the MTZ 762, which has a relatively low rate of fire but does have a pretty big bounce in that recoil property, and with a slow rate of fire, that is also interesting because you kind of have an all-over-the place rate of fire comparison.
When you look at what a low rate of fire may be, because I mean the bass B is probably the fastest firing, if I'm not mistaken here off the top of my head, then you have things like the MTZ 762, which is low, but then the side winder is really low, so like, where does it fit then in that sort of puzzle?
But either way, however this works out, it will be unlocked via the weekly challenge and might be worth going for because it is a 762, the weapon we've seen in the 762s. Actually hold their own here for the most part in The Meta so far, at least in War Zone, but this will be just like the tack of valvie that we saw; you'll have to complete five challenges during the weekly set, and then you'll unlock it as that overall weekly reward.
