So the first season 2 reveal is here for Modern Warfare 3. While we don't have a road map just yet or a detailing blog that could be coming as early as tomorrow or as late as next Monday the 5th, we did get our first look at some of the major content offerings coming within season 2 for Modern Warfare 3, and today we are breaking down what you need to know, so drop your thoughts as we go along, drop a like, consider subscribing, and make sure to follow over on Twitch as well to hang out with us live as we back another the swing of that here in the near future, but anyways, let's jump into it. So earlier today.

Call of Duty tweeted the following: Hunt to Survive Face The Horde in season 2 of Call of Duty: War Zone and Modern Warfare 3 is coming February 7th, with the following two images on screen that you'll see one being just the key art of Ghost, a new skin here at that, a new look for Ghost, an image with three operators amidst the new backdrop, and a few other smaller details.

So first, it's nice to actually see some key art for Season 2. Season 1's key art of Price was notably just the same artwork that we'd seen since the launch of mod Warfare 3, so it's nice to see that change, as small a thing as that is to be happy about if you can be, but the key art that has ghosts.

I think, looks insane. If that's the battle pass skin, my guess it's going to be like the Tier 100 skin; that's an insanely cool-looking one in my opinion, but in the next image, that's where we get some bigger reveals that come into play.

The return of fortune's keep in modern warfare 3 / warzone season 2

Here, first and foremost, is the world of season 2. That's Fortune's Keep; it doesn't look as pristine as you may remember because it seems like we may actually have some map adjustments and changes that we don't fully understand to the fullest degree just yet, but changes are coming.

No less, yesterday there were five boxes that were sent out to Resurgence creators for their streams to unbox, and they contained in them miniatures of set locations of Fortune Keep, easily identifiable pieces, and map locations. But all of them were a little different, with debris and structural damage carved into the miniatures, making it appear as if an earthquake or something had taken place within the world of Fortune Keep.

So while we get Fortune Keep back within season 2 here, it'll definitely be a new experience per se in a few different ways. We just don't know again to what extent there will be slight changes here coming to that map, but Fortun's Keep is now officially in that key art, and what we can see confirmed here for season 2 again. There will be a larger reveal here once we end up getting the blog post talking about the road map and content coming, but for right now, we know about that.

The new operators of modern warfare 3 season 2

The new operators of modern warfare 3 season 2

Operators, we see a ghost, an unknown one on the left, and then Rick Grimes front and center. We knew The Walking Dead crossover would be happening, but it seems like this might actually be a bit more of an in-depth thing since he's in the keyr now, and I'm kind of thinking we might be going the way the Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 battle pass route where the crossover is at Central Focus.

Rick might actually be in the battle pass as an operator or something because while we see operators coming in Seasons with key arts. I don't think we've had one off the top of my head that was a licensed operator, other than Spike in that season 6 in Modern Warfare 2, so it might be something that we end up seeing a larger sort of crossover in collaboration here with season 2, but for right now, that's what we know—he's at least coming in some capacity.

Weapons previewed in the modern warfare 3 season 2 key art

Weaponry, based on first glances, seems like two of the three weapons we've seen before: Rick Grimes is holding the ram 7, and the ghost is holding what appears to be the MTZ 556. And it seems like that unnamed operator to the left is holding the new Anvil, a weapon that we've actually seen in another keyart image alongside leaks of the past first seen officially in the ranked play images from Modern Warfare 3 MP.

At the reveal of the reloaded update a few weeks ago, the Anvil B is like now, 99.9%, confirmed the only. 1% holding it back; they just have not said it in writing, but again, we know how this goes if it's in the keyart imagery; it's overwhelmingly a majority of the time going to be in the upcoming season.

The return of the light helo in warzone season 2?

The return of the light helo in warzone season 2?

I think the only one that I can think of where that wasn't the case was in the season 3 trailer from Modern Warfare 2, where we had a few liveaction clips where it showed the PKM reloading, and that never came, not until at least here in Modern Warfare 3 with the pat 762 , but anyway, smaller details you may have missed: There's one in the back that I picked up on in the background of the keyart image where we see the light Hilo from War Zone 1, not the Hilo we have now, and I'm really curious if that's going to be just like a few little oopsies from the art department or because everything in Keyr usually has some sort of meaning.

I kind of wonder if we'll see The Return of the Light Hilo in War Zone 2, so right now there's a bit of questioning here, but it's interesting that we see that back and not the helicopters we've seen since War Zone 2's introduction.

Thoughts on the season 2 reveal for modern warfare 3 & warzone

Anyway, let's talk about this here a little further on a more personal front.

Giving my thoughts and opinions here on this personally, I'm stoked to see Fortune's keep returning here. That's obviously one of the biggest things here that I think are going to be the marketed items out of season 2. I still think to this day that it was kind of criminal that we had a brand new war zone map but only had it for like 5 months before it was entirely removed, making way for war zone 2 at the end of the war zone 1 era.

I loved that map; I thought it was a great refresher, and Pace in terms of what we had for the Resurgence, offering, and personally. I kind of think it'll play pretty well on this version of war zone that we have right now. At least personally speaking, maybe that is something that whenever I actually jump in, I don't like it, but it is something that I think could do pretty well here with what we have right now.

I'm curious though what that means for the pipeline of things for war zone going forward because do we see ranked play in season 3, do we see rebirth in season 4, do we keep progressively getting like one step closer to the full war zone experience? once per season at this point, or do we see something like being ranked in season 2?
