News - 41 Big Changes The Haunting Update (warzone 2 & Warzone Update 1. 29)
Ladies and gentlemen Today is an important day because today is the launch of the haunting event for Modern Warfare 2 and War Zone, and honestly, this appears to be the best event that we have seen so far within Modern Warfare 2, so yes, if you're playing the Modern Warfare 3 beta and you're missing that, this is what is going to have to carry you over for the next couple of weeks.
The easiest way to look at this is that we have the haunting event, which is between both War Zone and multiplayer. We also have bundles; we have what is going on in War Zone, which in my opinion is the craziest of all, and we're going to go over that; and of course, we also have the multiplayer side of things as well.
In this article, we are going to be going over the patch notes, but when this update goes live, which is pretty much right around when this article is going to go live. AKA, The Haunting, update. Okay, so the first part of this is essentially everything that we went over yesterday. If you haven't checked out yesterday's article, it's essentially going over the road map and what is coming there, but then we get into the haunting event, so this is the captured souls event.
That's what I'm going to be calling it. There's a couple of different things that you need to do within this event. You see, up here we have an operation and a nightmare. That is what is going on in the war zone. We will get to that; however, these captured souls work exactly the same as the trophy hunt event from season 3, for which I do have a article going over the fastest way to get them.
As of right now, everything to earn in here is actually really quick, with the top thing being the violent end, which is an SMG blueprint. But this shouldn't take you too long if you play the game naturally. Most of these you're going to be able to earn very quickly. Now what you can get from this is the scalfi calling card double weapon XP.
The two most corny weapon charms you have are the creature copter, which is obviously a helicopter vehicle skin, and the alien death ray, which is a pistol. I really like that one, the join me loading screen. The 1 hour of double weapon XP, the bad luck weapon charm, carved-up weapon sticker, a tiar skip Finally, that violent blueprint There's also on the 24th going to be more of these coming and for completing the first mastery and getting 10 rewards, you are going to get a rose skin, and for completing the second mastery, which is all 15 items, you get the Koenig skin, so two operator skins are available, just like we saw in season 3.
Now that operation nightmare thing, we're going to get more into that in a second. Keep in mind that there are daily login bonuses for this event as well, with the best one being the nightmare sweats, which is the weapon blueprint; all of the other ones are pretty straightforward loading screens, emblems, and things along those lines if you're into operator bundles.
Skeletor is coming today, Ash on the 23rd, and Inarius Diablo 1 on the 26. There's also a couple new pieces of equipment coming out with this as well. First of all, we have the sound. Veil Scream It's a field upgrade; basically, this is a suppression mine. But it gives you a hallucinatory audio assault that fills the air with screams of the dead, which is interesting, and then the decoy grenade reports of inhuman and monstrous sounds prepped with gunfire, so in other words, they just added sounds to the decoy grenade as well.
There are a ton of bug fixes here, which I'm not going to read through; generally speaking, these are relatively boring, but if you want to pause the article, you can check it out now. Before we get into the war zone side of things, which is my favorite part, we're going to be looking at multiplayer.
So first of all, we have haunting dominance. Basically this is domination except this time you're going to have scarecrows, instead of flags we also have kill confirmed instead of dog tags you collect skulls, again no big changes there whatsoever, we have trick or treat capture and hold the Drop Zone to earn points for your team but take care while opening any crates who knows what might jump out at you in other words that is Drop Zone with jump scares and of course we have zombie infected as well now the two new maps that we have are Los Ailo which is just a Day of the Dead version of a map that we already have and the new version of Embassy as well, like you're seeing here just at night, a little more spooky now, so moving into Battle Royale Resurgence plunder and lockdown, so this is essentially the new stuff that is going on within the war zone.
The first thing that we have here is the haunting event, so there are basically world bosses that they have put on that you have to go investigate and take down, including the butcher and the stalker, which is kind of the swamp monster. Pharaoh UFO ghost train and evil spirits the evil spirits One simply says to investigate now.
If you go in and complete five out of six of these, you get a mastery reward, as you're seeing here. Also, there is a calling card available. Now, I don't know what these events actually are or what you have to do; that is what we're going to find out on stream later today, but I will say this is very interesting.
We've never seen anything like that. If you do down and kill the butcher, this is actually going to give you a reward that can be claimed in Diablo. I'm not sure what that is yet, but that is interesting as well. Now let's go into a little bit more depth as to what is coming. First off, we have Von Dead, so this is the updated Vondal.
They put it up at night, and it's spooky; there's fog. There's something like that in one area; they have drained the nearby canal, which will change things up a bit. Humans have barricaded the market to survive as long as possible, making it the area with the best loot in the city, so keep that in mind, and the incantation has transformed the current weather into something terrifying; in other words, there's fog everywhere now, so then we have zombies Royale.
This is my favorite mode. It is very straightforward. Basically, you die, you become a zombie, you kill people as a zombie, you get to come back, you try to survive as long as possible as survivors, and if you make it to the end, you win. It's fun, it's a lot of good times, and Zombie Royale is amazing; we have Von Dead lockdown.
I believe this is the one that's like Hardpoint, but in War Zone we have new features, so we have the haunted box. This is where we are going to get our jump scares. Just keep that in mind. It refills armor plates, ammunition, and equipment, but you're going to have your jump scares. We also have bloodsuckers.
