News - 1,000 Riot Shield Kills Warzone 2 Has Broken Me
You know, I was just about to go to bed, and then I looked at the riot shield again. We are at 342 out of 400. It's rage, and once again welcome back to some more Modern Warfare 22. I literally just got done recording my Mastery Launcher article, and we just finished out the RPG. If you missed that article, feel free to go ahead and check it out.
Currently it is 307; in the morning, the way that I did it was just straight up biting the bullet, going into shipment 24 hours a day, and just tanking it. In full transparency, it was a miserable time. I really don't know how to make this easier, but I really do think that if you just sit down and do it for a couple of hours in shipping, it'll go over kind of well.
I say it'll go over kind of well, but look at my KD. To be fair, we could look at this as more of a good thing as opposed to a bad thing for obvious reasons, but yeah, doing the riot shield has significantly tanked my KD, and it really hasn't been that great of a time. So now, real quick, before we go ahead and jump right back into shipment, I wanted to go ahead and take a quick second to thank the sponsor of today's article in.
Intotheam!
Today's article will be sponsored by my friends over at AM. 2022 is winding down from now through the end of the year into the morning or running a site-wide sale where you can get anywhere from 25 to 80 off on top-of-the-line quality comfort and stylish basic graphic tees?
I've been repping their apparel since the beginning of this year. Their t-shirts are some of the coolest and softest pieces of clothing that I own. I practically live in this great hoodie. Your order will be huge. Let's get back into modern warfare.

I feel like, at this point in time, we all feel a specific kind of way about skill-based matchmaking.
I mean to say it bluntly: if you really need to tank your stats for a couple of good games, hey, and here's the way to do it: just run around on shipment and just try to use a riot shield. It's not even really trying to use the riot shield; it's just doing the riot shield, and yes, your KD will increase significantly.
Drop only has to get 50 or so more kills, though, and I just want it done again. I didn't even bother to try Tier 1. I don't know if it makes any damage difference; I don't even think it does because tier one isn't hardcore, and I don't think it would change to a one-hit melee, speaking, of which I still don't understand why they felt they needed to make it a three-hit initially.
When the shipment update came out and we saw that the riot shield got a Nerf. I know I talked about it and said that I saw that these knives were only really upset about it on Twitter, like they were praying for his downfall. There was a clip that I got where it took, like, seven hits. Seven hits is by far the most it's ever taken me to hit somebody and kill somebody with a riot shield.
I always end up getting into these "papega" battles with a riot shield where we just keep smacking each other. We know that nothing is getting done, but we don't care. We just keep hitting each other with, you know, and I think I've been talking about how the riot shield hasn't really seemed like it was locking on; it just locked on really hard right there throughout all these years of Call of Duty when you lock onto an enemy and you start meleeing, sometimes with the riot shield.
It just locks on really hard, and you'll swing more times than you mean to. It's always been some weird double-hit glitch. Now, I don't know if I'm just imagining it, but I feel like since the update came out it's been happening a lot more and previously. It really wasn't, and I still don't even understand why this had to get changed to a three-hit game.
I mean, yeah, like running around with the riot shield is annoying. Yeah, like a two-hit melee—I mean, a two-hit melee is the exact same if you were going to—you know this guy's got the right idea, and I respect it. I mean, a two-handed melee is the exact same thing if you try to hit somebody with the butt of your gun, right, but in this case with the riot shield again.
I just don't know why it needed to be three hits, like it's really not that bad because the mobility while. The mobility got nerfed; it feels like the way that you melee, but with a lot more control. A little bit better, honestly. What I really think they need to do though is just make it so that you just can't use the riot shield with Overkill; you just shouldn't be able to do that if that's really what they're trying to do and nerfing it.
I don't think the crux of the issue is the riot shield by itself, okay, so see what I'm talking about: I don't think the crux of the issue is the riot shield. Turtles. I want to say I was watching Merck Music's article about this, and he made a really good point that if you're going to have the riot shield on your back or if it's not going to be taken off as like an overkill option, it needs to be breakable on your back.
I feel like the idea of that could probably work because, if I'm not mistaken, there was that one perk or that one character in Infinite Warfare. It was Phantom; I think he had that back shield trait, where you were able to take a couple of back shots. Okay, that sounds really bad. I'm going to stop myself right there.
You were able to take a couple of bullets to the back, but your riot shield would eventually break. I also didn't play Infinite Warfare that much, so I could be completely wrong about Phantom, but regardless. I really do feel like instead of nerfing the damage with this thing, like sure, the mobility I can understand, but I just feel like if they're trying to really nerf the usage of it or really the best way to nerf it would again just be don't; have it be an option with Overkill if you really want to get rid of turtles that badly, that's the best way to do it.
I just don't get it. I just went and fled, and now he's running for me. Surf is here, and he's got a riot shield on his back too. I just can't do anything. I won that fight. My turn from here is just to let me hit you with the riot shield, thank you, and this is exactly what I'm talking about in lines 22 and 43.
I already went on the skill-based matchmaking tangent for the night, but again, that's just the best way to lower your KD. I'm telling you it's a good and a bad thing because, like, I don't care if I go negative anymore; it's a good thing that I have a negative KD. The only downside with this Riot Shield Man is that you are just so slow, and if you're trying to sneak up on somebody, you've got to pray that they're not moving like this or getting jumped on by CDL skins.
