News - New "chimera" Assault Rifle. Warzone 2 Chimera Gameplay
This is Merc Music, and welcome to Modern Warfare 2 season 1 reloaded. The first thing I wanted to go over and cover in this game is the brand new assault rifle, the Chimera. Unlocking the brand new Chimera assault rifle in this game is going to be kind of weird, so let's talk about that. For those that might not know, this is the honey badger from Call of Duty Ghosts, so I think a lot of people are going to want to get and unlock this gun, but here's the catch: to unlock this gun, you either have to extract from DMZ Building 21 or you have to get two kills with assault rifles in 15 different games similar to the DMZ challenge.
I wanted to just go into the DMZ real quick, do the challenge, unlock the gun, and then use it and show it off to you guys. However, even though this brand new update was supposed to bring us Building 21, apparently it's not live with today's update. That is honestly just super weird, but hey, at least we do have a multiplayer challenge that is not going to be too hard.
All you have to do for the multiplayer challenge is equip an assault rifle and get kills. You might be able to leave the game and see if the progression carries. I want to assume that you can just equip an assault rifle, get two kills on shipment, and then just leave and keep going back and forth until you have it done 15 times to unlock the Chimera pretty quickly, but there is always the chance that it won't work, so let's test that out real quick.
Okay, we have to acknowledge the code of conduct again. Fine hey, look at that. We already have a game. Now, this is actually going to be my first match on the ship, but I just need two kills and then I am out. All right, I'm pretty sure that's a kill. All right, that is two kills; you can see it right there; let's leave; wait; I almost just activated Double XP.
It did count; okay, that's super easy. Personally, I think I am going to just do that because the store bundle looks kind of whatever right now. In Modern Warfare 2, there are two new bundles. We have the raid bundle, which just gives you the Alex skin; if you buy this bundle, you get this skin by default, and then you also get this one once you complete the raid, and obviously you get some other stuff too, and then there's this bundle called Dark Skies, which has the Chimera.
Sorry, we got a brand new shipment, so I couldn't show it off entirely, but yeah, if you try to do the unlock challenge this way, you could probably get it done in like 15 to 20 minutes assuming you can get those two kills pretty fast and then just leave and then keep going. Tell me, all right, we got our two kills, but quitting is going to be so hard now.
I like the fact that we can see the double XP going on in the game, but that's going to take some getting used to, and yeah, it is still counting. Yeah, I think that's definitely going to be the way to go. I actually was considering buying this Dark Skies bundle, which will give you the Chimera immediately, but at the same time.
I kind of want to save my Cod points, and this weirdly doesn't look like the honey badger to me. These attachments for it also don't look great either. Here's our preview animation. I mean, that does not really look like the honey badger to me; obviously, it is; it's just the attachments, which kind of ruin it.
Yeah, we'll just knock this out real quick. All right, we just need one more to come up. All right, we got our two, we've got them, and they're gone. The fastest flow that I've created for this is to just get the two kills, leave the game, and then instantly Q for another game of shipment. And while you're waiting, just double check to make sure that your progress is still being tracked.
I wanted to casually go over the patch notes in-game while we waited, but for some reason they have not updated the notes since November. We have the War Zone 2 launch patch notes and then the week two update, but then we don't have anything else. There's all kinds of new stuff and quality of life changes that have happened to the game, but we can't even see them in action.
Just saying that would have actually been super helpful. I'm going to use this goofy AK class that I made because the M30B is kind of too weak for shipment. All right, there you go. We've got two. We're out there you go, Q, for shipment again. There's one, and we've got our second one out. We'll flick again.
I love how easy this is. Yep, we got six out of 15. I think I'll just pull up the patch notes on my phone. Yeah, the LA thieves' skin Nerf became official today, which just makes me so happy looking. how bright red it is. Blended into double-checking the progress, yep, we're already halfway through Season 1 reloaded.
The patch notes are here, just not in the game. I'm not going to go over every single small change to the game. I do want to talk about the ones that I feel are very important. I'm just going to talk about something really important: obviously, shipment is in the game now, and we have a 24-7 playlist, which is insane.
It'll be the fastest place to unlock that chimera, that's for sure. I mean, look, we already got the double, and from the 21st to the 4th of January, there's going to be a special holiday-themed shipment. It is honestly so strange that we have the raids in the game now, but they didn't even tell us when Building 21 is coming to the game.
I feel like that's a huge disincentive to try to do the DMZ Challenge and get the Chimera; that way, part of me feels like they're trolling us and that it actually is in the game, and they just don't want to say anything, like they're trying to keep the surprise. I can possibly try to dispel the myth that we'll see what happens today.
There's a lot of stuff going on today, man. All right, we're already at 10 out of 15. This is so good. They did say that in order to get the raid key, you have to complete a specific multiplayer challenge. I already did all of my daily challenges last night, so I don't know how that's going to work out.
In order to get the raid key that lets you access the raid, you have to complete a specific daily challenge in multiplayer or special operations and place within the top 20 in any War Zone 2 Battle Royale playlist or in DMZ. Use the final x-fill, a helicopter, with at least thirty thousand dollars in cash.
I still think multiplayer is going to be the easiest way to do this. I don't know how I only got one there, but we got two kills, and we're out once you get your raid key. The raid assignment will be available for at least a week. Some of this stuff I've already talked about in a previous article, so I'm going to try to cover the new stuff first, but I did want to cover the raid stuff because it's brand new and I think it's going to be really awesome.
