News - Modern Warfare 2: New Free Update Changes, Bonus Content Rewards, More. Warzone 2 New Update
We got a brand new sort of mini update, if you will, for MW2 and Warzone 2 that is going to be great for anyone looking to grind a little bit, get some stuff unlocked easier, or maybe level up some stuff a bit easier. Now, this is a limited-time update; it's not permanent or anything like that; this is just a weekend update, but a big one at that, so we've got that going on.
We also have some other in-game updates to talk about, as well as some pre-rewards that are up for grabs and all sorts of things.
Mw2 multiplayer free access event
like that, so Let's begin first with the free-to-play update itself. As mentioned, this is a limited-time thing. Pacific, so you get a nice full weekend where you're able to play Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, for free, if you're just a free-to-play player on Warzone 2 and DMZ. Orion, great time to take advantage of multiplayer's free access.
Well, you'll be able to play on three different maps: we've got Shipment, which is by far the best map for grinding a lot of kills to level up quickly and grinding camos as well; we also have Farm 18, which is also pretty small and pretty fast-paced; and then we have El Asilo, which is another relatively.
And for this, you've got standard Team Deathmatch, kill confirmation, dominance, and hard points, so all modes that'll flow and play very quickly on all three of those maps, so definitely a prime time to jump on and take advantage of the double weapon XP take advantage of the free-to-play access weekends.
And get some progress towards maxing out your guns—maybe even the new Chimera as well.
New free content rewards in modern warfare 2 & warzone 2
If you're trying to unlock that, it's super easy in multiplayer, as we talked about earlier on this week now that we are on the subject of free stuff in the free weekend. Everyone loves being free, right? I think, 14 hours throughout the entire event, if you really are going to have it open all day, you'll be earning that in the background.
But on Thursday, every day basically has specific rewards. 30 minutes watched on Thursday gets you a brand new emblem. One hour watched on Thursday gets you a 60-minute double XP token, and two hours watched on Thursday get you a 60-minute double XP token; on Friday, if you watch for 30 minutes, you get a brand new calling card; one hour gets you a 60-minute double XP token; and then two hours is another 60-minute double XP token; on Saturday, there are even more rewards: in 30 minutes, you get a brand new emblem; one hour gets you a brand new double XP token that lasts for an hour; at an hour and 30 minutes.
you get a brand new animated calling card; at an hour and 30 minutes, you get a brand new animated calling card; at an hour and 30 minutes, you get a brand new animated calling card; at an hour and 30 minutes, you get a brand new animated calling card; at Finally, on Sunday, the championship day, if you will watch for 30 minutes, you will get another new calling card good for 60 minutes, or one hour, and another 60-minute double XP token.
One hour and 30 minutes is going to get you the candy cane weapon blueprint, which will only be available for watching this event, so that's the only time you'll be able to earn that, and then again at two hours you get one hour of double weapon XP, so primarily. What you're focusing on there are those double weapon XP tokens.
I know you also have some other cool rewards, like the pistol blueprint and whatnot, so there is some free stuff you can earn just for watching the CDL again. All you have to do is link your Twitch and Activision accounts, and then watch on the Call of Duty Twitter and. I believe, on the Call of Duty League website, as well, real quick now before we get into some other updates from this studio.

Bonus raid rewards in modern warfare 2 and future seasonal content
Moving on, we do have a few tweets to cover some pretty important details and also some new updates in regards to Warzone. First up, we do have some additional information on the brand new raid gameplay. Of course, with season one reloaded, we saw the release of the Atomic Grad raid, which I went through and completed once.
It's honestly pretty cool gameplay. I won't lie; it's neat with all the teamwork aspects; having to go through and solve all the puzzles with your team, I think, is pretty cool. Infinity War did post a couple of tweets here confirming that you can actually replay this multiple times for different rewards, so if you complete the Atom Grad raid on normal difficulty, just in general, you'll get the Gaz Convoy.
Skin And then you'll also get one of seven items from the raid loot pool, which can be a player card, an emblem, a loading screen, or a unique weapon blueprint. If you actually complete Adam's Grad on Veteran, you get a guaranteed weapon blueprint and then one of these seven different items from the raid loot pool as well, so you can keep replaying it to get more and more rewards from it if you're also interested in that.
Sort of curiously enough, from the raid information in the Call of Duty blog, it seems like we just got a confirmation that for Modern Warfare 2's initial year of content, we're only going to have five seasons, which is very interesting given the fact that there's all the leaks and rumors for year two and like there's no premium Cod but like a full premium CoD game in 2023, and it's like supposedly all the expansion DLC for MW2.
We're still very far away from that happening, but in the Call of Duty blog, they say that over the course of five seasons, a narrative will unfold, and that's in reference to the raid story lines that are expanded upon there.
Warzone 2 playlist update has good, & bad news
It's just a lot of question marks now to wrap things up for today. Raven did actually provide a new update with the war zone mode, something that I'm sure a lot of players are wondering about if you went through and read the initial patch notes for the Season One Reloaded update, which we did here on the channel, and initially on those patch notes, they gave us like a little description of the playlist update that was going to be happening with this patch, and they mentioned that there would be third-person trios.
