News - The New Zombies Content We. Re Never Going To See. Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded. Standalone Game

breaking news

This is DK Dynamite, and tonight we're going to be talking about the unfortunate zombies project that was cancelled, sad news for season one reloaded, plus even more. Twitter Now, tomorrow is obviously January 15th, which many of us out there are considering.

115 day tomorrow?

115 day tomorrow?

Day now I doubt anything is going to be happening in terms of Call of Duty to celebrate 115 days, but in recent years, not much has been done. Cher will put out a tweet, maybe they'll tease an unsolved Easter egg, or Call of Duty will put out a cheesy article in the form of a short or a Tik Tock, which kind of celebrates zombies.

A little bit, you know, you got real-life replicas of certain items and relics. Maybe they'll go ahead and do that tomorrow, but I'm not really that hopeful for anything. Massive, although it would be cool if there was a special in-game event. I mean, it could have been a free, unlockable camo. I guess right now you can consider the vortex event as a celebration for one or five days since it is a bit of a callback to the Mob of the Dead Pack-a-Punch camo that you can still earn from now until January 17th, when reloaded does end up releasing, which will remove the vortex event entirely.

Now, I do feel like in the last couple of days, zombie fans took two unfortunate L's, and you'll probably agree with me once you sit through this article, so bear with me.

Only one zombie update in s1r

First off, with the official reveal of season 1 reloaded, it was confirmed that Zomie is only going to be getting one update, and that is the Doabe Warlord boss, which is going to be added onto Ekhan. That is a bit of a surprise or quest of sorts when the mid-season One update does release later this week, but I'm not too hopeful for it.

New rewards & boss location?

New rewards & boss location?

Now the block post does mention that Doabe can be found on a Skys scraper in Zerovan City, so it's unclear if that's the same skyscraper where you can currently hit Tier 2 Pack-A-Punch; maybe it's the same one or it's a different skyscraper.

We'll just have to wait and see this coming Wednesday. My question is if there's anything special about the reward Rift that will end up dropping once you end up killing Doabe. I mean, looking at the current Legacy Fortress boss that we have in Ekhan, nothing special really drops from Legacy nearly ever.

The most I've seen is a ray gun weapon case, not even the ray gun plans. There's almost no point in fighting that warlord unless you're doing the ACT mission that requires you to do so, so I'm curious what the incentive is going to be for destroying Doabe in a match of MWZ. It's a really odd update if it's not tied to an Act 4 mission.

I really do hope that when Doabe gets added, it's tied to a new act for a mission of sorts so that not only do you get maybe something cool from the reward Rift, whether it's a high-value belot or not, but you also get an actual reward for having done that mission; hopefully that's how they handle it well, and they also mentioned that you'll get high-value loot from killing Doabe.

It also has me scratching my head since Tier 3 as of right now still doesn't give anything too good consistently. I know they buffed the rewards in tier four and tier five within the dark ether, but right now tier three is still a bit odd, so I'm curious what the odds of getting good loot are going to be now.

I know that's disappointing for fans out there; they were hoping for some awesome new content for MW3, zombies. Don't forget that season 2 is just around the corner, dropping on February 7th, unless there are some delays, and like I mentioned on the podcast the other day. I would never want to see Trar spread too thin to the point where they're having to worry too much about MWZ.

Right for a game that isn't theirs while trying to ensure that we get an absolute Banger launch and post-launch season for Black Ops 2024, what would you rather have? mwz take a couple of L's throughout 2024 to ensure a better Black Ops game that's actually theirs or have it to where the content is nearly balanced between the two but then the content starts becoming a bit mediocre, isn't anything too crazy or expansive.

It's kind of a double-edged sword, right? You can argue it's AAA Studio; they could just hire more people in a perfect world, yes, but I think at the very least I would like to see some small updates with reloaded, such as a camel challenge menu where you can see your progress on what you did so you kind of know what your progress is towards Borealis, or any other challenges that you're working on.

It would be great to see some small quality-of-life updates to just improve the gameplay pacing. I wouldn't want to see season 2 have a bit of a barebones launch for zombie content just to ensure Reloaded gets more, because season 2 isn't that far away, but hopefully we get at least a surprise or two on January 17th.

I'll keep you guys posted with that one now. What's also really interesting is that a couple of days ago, a former Raven software employee did update their LinkedIn profile with the claim that apparently Raven was working on a Cod Zombie Live Service game until Treyarch ended up shutting it down.

This is before the release of Black Ops 2 in 2012; we're talking 2010–2011. Raven apparently worked a couple of months on a live-service zombie experience, but Trck said, Hey, you know, zombies are our baby. We don't want that project out there unless it's coming from us, and it's crazy that there wasn't even a collaboration put together between Tr and Raven to make that project happen.

Trck, just shut it down completely. If that hadn't happened, I wonder how that would have actually impacted the release of BO2 zombies now. I wonder if anything that was worked on for this live-service zombie experience was put towards Cod Online, which Raven also co-developed with Activision Shanghai.

That was later shut down in favor of promoting Cod Mobile, and they also worked fully on EXO Zombie for Advanced Warfare's DLC season, so I'm wondering if anything that Raven had worked on for that project made its way into other experiences at all. I mean, that would have been interesting because I think live service games are a bit outdated right now.

If done the right way if done the right way they could still work. I mean, look at current life service experiences, which are far different from older ones from the 2010 era. You know, Fortnite, Apex War Zone, and the list goes on. I mean.
