Ladies and gentlemen Over the past couple of weeks I have made several different articles on Commander Philip Graves, so he looked at his full story and then we dove into the fact that he is probably not dead followed up by a deep dive into Shadow company all of these articles have come together and left us with the big question is Commander Philip Graves really dead well today turns, out we, have an answer that our first proof our first evidence a commander Philip Graves is in fact not dead but completely alive and will be making a return to Modern Warfare 2.

I guess you could now say died—so we already talked about his full story in previous articles, so we'll go over it quickly towards the end of the game we find out that Commander Philip Graves and Shadow company betray. Task Force 141 and taking Los Vaqueros compound when they do so, Task Force 141 is left to their own devices and has to essentially hunt down track and take out Graves.

Now, right away you'll probably notice that there are a few really weird things about this scene. First things first, we never see Graves at the end; he doesn't give a last speech; he doesn't say anything to the characters as he dies; he just kind of goes boom and disappears. The character would never actually check whether or not he was in the tank or confirm his death whatsoever; I always found that really, really weird, and then one thing I pointed out in the previous article is that while he is fighting in the tank, we never hear any bullets, we don't hear the tank running in the back of his radio, nothing.

You could chalk this up to lazy audio design, but I don't think that's actually the case. If we go back to the AC-130 mission, when you hear people talking through the radios, you can hear the current gunfire going on through the radios; they clearly were able to do that and design the mission thusly, but during the tank fight, we hear nothing through Graves radio.

Foreign. So that was my first inkling of speculation about the non-death of graves. Also, there's a long history of Call of Duty doing this, with the most recent example being Alex from Modern Warfare 2019. We saw at the very end the building go boom with him inside, and then later on within the season.

I believe it was three, he made a return as one of the operators for multiplayer and obviously being a big part of Task Force 141 as well, and then again making a return within Modern Warfare 2. So after I made this article on it, there was a lot of speculation revolving around whether or not Graves was dead, and some people.

I guess, reached out to him, and he actually responded with an Instagram post, so he literally just posted a picture of Commander Graves, who by the way looks so much like the voice actor, with the caption, More of this guy? Now I want to say that I've gone back to the Instagram post, and this is actually removed from it.

The other thing you could look at this as is that C is the third letter in the alphabet, or, in other words, season three. Now, that could be a little bit of a stretch, and I could be looking too far into this, but if he were to return, I think they would do it in a way that it worked out with the raid.

We already know that Alex is a part of the raids, and I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him in Season 2 Reloaded, but with the raid happening in mid-season 3. I could see him coming, not as the title operator for Season 3, but having to do with the raid. Maybe it was revealed throughout that raid that he was returning; now let's take another look at how that could happen.

So way number one would be somehow through the raid, maybe Graves, Has he captured Alex or something along those lines? Maybe he's working with Alcatala to cover up more? We don't know, but another option is a Chica Island because, you see, when Ashiga Island was introduced to us, we found out about the backstory behind it: the Shadow Company has moved in to fight the ultra-nationalist Coney forces, the same forces that stole the ballistic missiles from the Shadow Company within the campaign of Modern Warfare 2.

But we also got more information from Infinity War, where they said that recently intercepted communication suggests that elements of the Shadow Company, under the leadership of redacted, have taken control. In other words, the redacted person, whom I originally assumed was actually General Shepard because we knew that he was in the wind because of the end of the campaign, turns out that this person who could be in charge of Shadow Company could really be none other than Commander Philip Graves if he didn't die if he wasn't in that tank.

It could be him in charge of the Shadow Company. So that's it. That is our proof that Commander Philip Graves was not in that tank; he did not die, and he is still working behind the scenes to foreshadow Shadow Company as it becomes a bigger part of El Mazara and, of course. Ashika. Island I expect to see much more of this in the future.

In my opinion. Philip Graves was one of the best characters to be implemented within Modern Warfare 2, and to see his story continue in one way or another, even if he somehow turns and becomes a good guy and once again starts working with Task Force 141. I think that the Redemption Arc could be very cool.

Or maybe he's evil and he's working in El Mazur with Alcatala, along with the alternate nationalists.
