You simply take the DPI of your mouse, which you can easily find by either opening up your mouse software if you're using something like a Razer or a Logitech mouse or by Googling a DPI analyzer, and then you simply multiply your DPI by your in-game sensitivity.

For example, with a 2.0 in-game sensitivity and a 1600 DPI, your edpi is 3200 because 2 times 16 is 32. Okay, so now that we have this number, we are going to want to tailor it to be in a competitive range since, much like with the controller mentioned before, having too high of a sensitivity is going to make it difficult to control and make it much easier to move off of your target and cause you to miss, but having too low of a sensitivity is going to hinder your ability to move and react with your aim.

This range is going to feel weird for those who are brand new to competitive gaming, but trust me, after a day or two of playing with it, you will feel 100 times better, and the range that you want your edpi to fall in is going to be between 3600 and 7000. I suggest that you spend time either on the shooting range or in the base Call of Duty multiplayer.

It will really take some time to get accustomed to the sensitivity and gunfights, as that is worse when it matters most, and having a constant practice area is going to be very helpful for this initial adjustment. So, just try to stay as close to the range as possible in order to see the best results.

On into tip number two, we have something called "crosshair placement," and if you go and watch any high-level pro player, you'll notice that they tend to not be looking at the floor and that their crosshair is constantly moving to where they think an enemy will be, even if they are not yet there.

Keeping your crosshair at roughly eye level, right around where an enemy's hitbox would be if they stood in front of you, is called "centering" your crosshair. The basic point of this is to make it so that you need as little adjustment as possible when you do actually end up running into an enemy player, and you can get a nice boost to your aim as you don't need to move your crosshair around as much, not needing to make huge sweeping adjustments, while maintaining a lot of consistency in your aim.

If you're running around with your crosshair around the floor instead of where your target is going to be, you're not going to be able to take advantage of this benefit. Build on this: when you're entering a building, going around a corner, or really in any situation that requires you to peak where an enemy may be, you want to move your crosshair to already be looking at where the spot is even before you confirm if there is an enemy there.

Moving on to tip number three, we have a tip that builds off of the stuff that we just talked about a second ago, and that's not peaking at too many angles at once.

Think about it like this: When you walk outside of a building onto a village street on the map, there are literally dozens, if not hundreds, of places an enemy can shoot you from windows. A hilltop or a tower with a sniper rifle They could be in the streets themselves or in an alley somewhere. The point is that there are a lot of places that an enemy can be, so when you run out, the odds of your crosshair being placed on the correct spot are very slim in these circumstances since there are so many possible angles.

Instead of running out into all of these angles, try to use a wall or a natural cover in general in order to clear some of the angles one at a time. This is called isolating your angles, and it's really effective in most FPSes because it limits the realm of possibility as to where an enemy can be when they shoot you and gives you a ton of information.
