Some changes are coming to War Zone that are long overdue; at least that's how I see it now. We don't know if they'll be in Season 2. Season 2. So to start, we probably wouldn't have heard about these features and changes just yet, but as we know. Season 1 Rel loaded, kind of full-on broke war zone, and many of the subsidiary pieces of modern warfare.

In an apology, Raven stated the following: We wanted to address the issues that players encountered during the season 1 Rel Loaded launch period. We've been laying the groundwork for the return of some fan favorites in upcoming seasons, which has required a degree of preemptive setup in our live environment.

The update shipped with some of that work, and we unfortunately encountered a conf conflict between live player data and our servers. Our teams were made aware immediately of the issues and began investigating shortly after the update went live. We rallied studio teams from around the world to get these issues resolved as swiftly as possible.

We, as developers, love this game and apologize for the disruption that resulted from these events. Please note that we hold ourselves to a high standard, and yesterday's issues did not align with that. With that said, we're also very excited for what's ahead and looking forward to bringing the best we can to War Zone.

So first, it was definitely nice to see acknowledgement of problems and accountability for them, along with transparency. On issues, still absolutely can be better for sure, but as we've said before, following a year of radio silence, it's definitely nice to see, but with that. Raven wanted to kind of extend the olive branch and give a bit of good faith reveals, for the kind of things that we would be seeing coming to the game that at the time may have actually broken them, the first of which was mentioned, so anyway, what are some of the features we're preparing for well ahead of time?.

The return of specialist bonus in warzone

The return of specialist bonus in warzone

You ask for a picture of the Rebirth Islands communication tower and a perk package with the War Zone Specialist logo on it. That makes so much sense when you consider it now, knowing what the fix was for a lot of these issues within the war zone and what the root cause of a lot of these problems was.

The big thing with loadouts was that the game was bugged on the basis of perks. That's why, when the fix went out, some players needed to remake their loadouts, or rather, delete and remake their perk packages, in order to make them work. With a subset of data that only allows for four perks at a time, you're basically putting a 2x4 into a small mailbox with that type of structure.

Fitting way too many things in a much smaller package, so I'm not trying to excuse a broken update, but you can see where this would have broken a lot of the fundamental gameplay structure, and it really unraveled at the seams. Specialists are very excited for that to return. I had hoped that we'd see this come with War Zone 2 before we knew anything about the gameplay loop, how the perks would work, and everything like that.

I remember it being on my wish list before Cod NEX last year, when the gameplay debuted, and from that point on, I kind of realized. We're probably not going to see a specialist bonus in Modern Warfare 2 MP or in War Zone in Modern Warfare 3, because that's just not how the perks work, though I would be curious if that does actually work with Modern Warfare 3.

After this has been crafted for this perk package system, it might be cool to see the introduction of that specialist streak system like the original Modern Warfare 3, but for this again, while we have no timetable just yet. I'm imagining this is probably going to be Tethered to a war zone rebirth Island Easter egg to begin with, when it's introduced, we've never seen a specialist bonus readily available for all players at all times.

There's always been some sort of in-game hurdle that you had to get over to end up earning that, whether it was the Vault East Dragon Nakatomi Plaza or the most recent introduction of it with the Doomsday devices in Vanguard and Caldera season 5 Last Stand. There's always some sort of task that you or your squad have to end up doing, because otherwise it'd be stupid and overpowered if every single player could have every single perk.

It's an Easter egg reward and something for those that really try to seek it out and have the ability to do so, and that's when you can end up getting it now. In recent iterations, it was not droppable and could not be transferred upon death to the player who killed the player with the specialist bonus as you could when it was first introduced in year two of War Zone in the 80s action heroes event, but with the introduction of the perk packages, we now have the ability to pick up perk packages.

After death so I'm wondering and I'm curious if we'll see that ability return here to be able to pick up specialists once it is returned and after the player's death. I'm assuming not, but who knows? Either way, I was insanely excited to see that return here, but that wasn't the only thing previewed.

The game changing adjustment to streaks in warzone

That was a side effect of an in-progress quality-of-life feature slated for release during season 2, so we do know that the bug has since been fixed, but how about a preview of that in-progress quality-of-life with a article of the air strike radius and direction indicator? On the mini map, if you are in that, they then continue.

We're aiming to improve feedback for incoming precision air strikes so players within a range feel they have the information they need to make a decision, especially when it comes to creating a fair and balanced competitive experience. More details will come in future patch notes, so that's absolutely something that I love.

I wanted this for years. I said this all the way back since I think like season 3 of Modern Warfare 2019 just like a month or two after the launch of War Zone as a whole. It really never made a ton of sense to me that these aerial kill streaks acted so differently that you had a cluster strike that would show you the radius of each Mor shell, albeit.
