News - The Season 1 Reloaded Update Killed Warzone 2's Potential

is warzone dying

So if you didn't know, some of the new things in this update are the war zone cup mode. This is an interesting mode, but it's basically a duplicate of Rocket League, just not as updated or advanced. My big problem with this is that the Warsaw community didn't really ask for this, and it's clearly out for the World Cup and maybe to sell more bundles.

So to be honest, I'm a little bit confused why Call of Duty is adding something like the War Zone Comp, which doesn't really address core gameplay. This is what is going to kill Warzone if Activision continues. To add to these things that the community really isn't looking for, one thing I really like to talk about is how, when Raven's software took over War Zone 1 and Rebirth Island, they actually started listening to community feedback and making a ton of changes, but IW, or Infinity Ward, is now in charge of the War Zone.

If you remember anything about IW, or Infinity War, they actually started killing wars one by one because of the lack of updates. And, after listening to the community, I really hope that Raven's software takes the lead on Wars. Again, because they listen to the community, if they have the ability to make these changes, they normally will make changes that are better for the community.

I also want to state that I'm aware that Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 made $800 million in the first three days and have the biggest sales and player base increases ever, but at what cost? Because Warzone. This does make sense, you know, because they are businesses, but at the same time, it's like we've forgotten a lot of the people that were actually playing Warzone and have been for the past three years.

I think that could be really dangerous for war zones because casual players are going to switch between games; they might not even stick with Wars for that long doing this reason when we loaded the update. Activision and IW have added a lot of cool things, like a new gun like the Camaro and a lot of bug fixes, but the reality is that there are still developer errors happening in this game that have got to be fixed right away because we're not playing a beta here, but it kind of feels like we are.

The RBK still hasn't been nerfed, and a lot of people think it's because they're trying to sell a bundle. But here's the thing: Warzone is free to play, and it is a business. I get that you've got to make your money, but Activision is constantly leaving things unnerving because they're about to sell a bundle now.

I've got a question for you: do you want to sell more bundles, or do you want your game to be successful? Because you might be able to have a little bit of both, but it's clear that you're always about the bundles. I mean, we're adding soccer players like Messi to the store because we're prioritizing.

That over bug fixes I also want to say this article is not meant to be complaining. I love Warzone. I've been playing War Zone for three years; it's the first FPS game I ever played. I have no intentions of playing other games on the channel, but let's be real here. We've got to be constructive, and people have got to let Activision know that we need to see some change; there's got to be some accountability because I love this game and I want to keep playing it, but many creators and players are just getting fed up with Activision's They are clearly trying here; they have some bug fixes, for example, and some audio fixes, but you really still can't hear footsteps, and once again, this isn't anybody being picky; if you ask the average player, they can never hear when someone's around them now.

Al Mazda is a beautiful map, probably better than Verdance, and they're making some changes to the map. I want to see this continue. This is a positive thing for Activision, and I appreciate it in Season One Reloaded, where we've even added more black sights and strongholds so people can get their loadouts more frequently.

Another positive, changing loadouts, is key to Warzone and making it feel like a war zone Call of Duty experience, and I gotta say Activision did Nerf the Bomb Drone, so that's another great change. As we look at the list of bug fixes here, there are numerous ones where there's still a lot existing in the game, like loadouts falling through the ground.

I mean, look how far I have to scroll here. We're just going down and down and down, killing tactical equipment with ATVs. There are so many glitches; we're still scrolling. There are a lot of fixes. There's no doubt it takes a lot of work from the developers, and we appreciate it, but there's still a lot of work to do as we scroll through the complete list.

You know, we started with the bug fixes and went to the top. There are a lot of changes in the season when it's reloaded, but at the same time, I'd argue there isn't enough to save Warzone, and here's why Warzone 2 is a game that has a lot of potential. It's got a great map. It's got new mechanics.

The graphics are decent, the guns are pretty cool, and the attachment system with fine tuning is awesome, but ultimately there was some innovation and not enough consistency. Players want to play Warzone; they want to play a fast-paced battle royale where they can get into the action quickly by limiting UAVs while at the same time making a fast time to kill in a 2v2 gulag.

season 1 reloaded update

Many players don't have control of their destiny in this game. I mean, you push for a long time without finding anybody across the Void, and then when you finally get there, you die, and you're in a 2v2 gulag. Now, you might win a 1v1, but then your teammate loses their 1v1 in the gulag, and you're out of the game.

War Zone 2 has a very miserable solo experience because of the lack of UAVs. allowing people to camp with a fast time to kill You don't have any time to react if someone does shoot you; there's no movement to work out of it now. Ultimately, nerfing and slide-cancelling were definitely necessary; the change was too long.

Wars on One Caldera, or Apex Legends, which have a little more stability and consistency. Ultimately, War Zone 2 is a very fun game, but these changes might actually be killing the game because it's losing a lot of players on a daily basis. If you look at the all-time peak for Warzone 2 when it launched, it was at 491 000.

Right now it's at 122.000, and you might say, "Well, this is just Steam, and when the game first launched, a lot of people were obviously going to be on it." That is true, but Warzone 2 is only about a month old, and we're already seeing a decline like this. Just three changes need to happen though, because I want to be constructive here, so here are three changes that have been made that I think might save Warzone too: Number one, the time to kill the time to kill or the amount of time you have alive before you actually get down, is super short, and you can't really react.
