Ladies and gentlemen, hey. Coming up later on this week, we have our next major update for Modern Warfare 2: War Zone 2 and DMZ with Season One Reloaded, and with this update, we know for a fact that between War Zone 2 and DMZ and also Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, we are going to have a major weapons update that's likely going to add in some new content.

Based on your knowledge of developer data and how they usually go about weapon tuning (54), the first main content piece of this weapons update is really the only content piece. I should say—is, of course, the Chimera assault rifle. This is going to be the final new weapon for season one, and this is basically going to be the honey badger from Call of Duty Ghosts, so we do have a brand new description on this weapon.

Basically, what it entails is just general gameplay between MP, you know, the more tight-knit 6v6 action, and also war zone and DMZ gameplay as well, so this is what Call of Duty themselves have to say about the Chimera rifle with an integrated suppressor and slow, high-energy subsonic. With 300 Blackout rounds, the Chimera is adept at close-quarters subsonic combat, and ammo hides kill skulls from the enemy team, so this weapon's going to have a lot of extra bonuses.

With it, Call of Duty goes on to say this weapon is built for keeping operators completely off the grid. Given the lack of visible tracers, hidden skull indicators, and suppressed fire, the Chimera is useful against both enemy operators and agents, the latter of which are less aware and coordinated when it comes to silent attacks.

So essentially, the Chimera is going to be that aggressive close-range rifle, very similar to how the Honey Badger was back in Call of Duty: Ghosts. So for multiplayer, it's going to work well as an aggressive rifle. Obviously, we have some other rifles that are more long-range. Based on things you know, like the cast of 762 and whatnot, maybe the TAC 56 is much more effective in medium to long ranges because they're heavy hitters, maybe a bit slower, whereas the Chimera is going to be the opposite of that lightweight aggressive, in general really geared towards playing more aggressively, at least as much as you can in this game, which obviously does have some hindrances.

When it comes to wanting to rush around and play fast, then over in the war zone aspect, in the DMZ aspect, really, I see the Chimera as that sniper-like weapon. Maybe you could use this with an alternative rifle; you could pair this with a 762; you could compare this with a row with an RPK or something like that as a more close-range rifle, but of course you would be doubling up on the same ammo type there, so that could always be a factor.

Really, I feel like this is going to be a top-tier sniper support option, probably up there with the cast of 74U. I'm going to be curious to see how exactly it competes versus that, which is likely the closest comparison, both within the rifle category itself and overall, and is going to be the main content.

Focus now on how to unlock this; as of right now, all they've given us is the fact that it should be available via a store bundle, but they didn't specify exactly when that store bundle would be dropping. Of course, they said the same thing for the m13b: it would be available via a challenge in a store bundle, and the bundle is still MIA, so we're not too sure what's going on with the store bundle quite yet for the Chimera, but it will be available through a weapon challenge, they say, though as of right now they have not given the specifics.

Once the updates are out and we have access to the challenge and the ability to unlock the camera, we will be breaking down all the information, like the best and fastest ways and the fastest ways to unlock it, if the store bundle is worth it, and if it's even available. So, stay tuned for all that, but that's the rundown on the Chimera, the main part of this weapons update.

Now as we move on to more gameplay-based things with various buffs, nerfs, and other changes like that. War Zone 2, and DMZ. Turn on those post notifications and join us on the road to 900,000 subscribers.

We are less than 2,000 away at this point, so I would love to hit that goal by the time the updates come out. It's trying to get 2,500 likes on this one now, alongside the addition of the chimera. I should have in turn every single attachment, but there are still some muzzles that are glitched and show up as locked for me.

There are still some, as you know. There are optics that are glitched and show up as locked for me, so I imagine with this new update here we'll probably see some other random levels added to certain weapons; we've seen that happen several times recently, and in turn, you'll be able to unlock those currently glitched attachments.

So we'll have to keep our eyes out for those that have been stealth changes recently; they haven't mentioned that, so I'll be sure to include that in any future articles if there are any stealth changes or secret changes with these updates. Another issue that I'm hoping is going to get fixed with this weapon update is the damage bugs that are currently going on.

It's especially prevalent in war zones and very noticeable there. I'm not sure if it's as noticeable in multiplayer, where the health is obviously a lot lower, but Jack Frags did a fantastic article recently showing that damage. In this game, the notoriously inconsistent assistants, snipers, can actually one-shot a player with full armor, which they're not supposed to be able to do currently for no real reason; there's no explanation as to why that happens sometimes.

But then it doesn't happen, and, you know, 99.9% of the time, the time passes. There are also bugs where sometimes you can get a critical hit in a melee and two-hit a Naka player with full plates, yet the majority of the time melees are going to be three-hit, you know, knocker, three-hit kills, so there's a lot of inconsistencies.
