Okay, so I know this topic has already been talked about to death by a number of YouTubers, and most of it has a negative connotation, but don't worry, your favorite white night for Activision is here to defend a multi-billion dollar company. Product. Consumerism. In all seriousness, I just haven't made a article on this yet, and I want to, so here I go.

Modern Warfare 3 has been out for a while now we are Midway through season 1 and honestly the game's going pretty well the last big update kind of broke the game mostly war zone, but H I don't know I never really bother worrying about that kind of stuff the game at its worst for me on series X has been a little less stable but nothing unplayable nothing terribly broken but people still talk about whether or not Modern Warfare 3 is glorified DLC, and that it's a bad practice for the Call of Duty franchise to be essentially charging full price for an expansion but not only is that sort of an industry Norm there's another comparison I don't see anybody pulling up, and that's why I'm making this article so late into the life cycle.

I know midway through season 1 is so late. Midway through season 1, I'm making this article because, why has no one been compared? Modern Warfare 3 is a season pass for a previous Call of Duty game. Now I'm going to have some really thin strings here to connect my topic because I know that not everybody's going to fit into this category, but I know a lot of people have been upset with the seasonal free content releases in games like Call of Duty and Battlefield Halo Infinite, a game that gets a free season with some maps and weapons.

Most people are kind of unhappy and wish we would go back to getting full, big-paid DLCs that actually are worth, you know, giving you a huge chunk of new content. Old DLCs were similar to expansions, and now we just sort of get drip-fed content. I think Modern Warfare 3 has plenty of content between all of its weapon maps and the free stuff they're adding throughout the life cycle.

I think we're good at having unique content to play with, but that's not my point if you were to buy Call of Duty Black Ops 2, the gold standard of Call of Duty for so many people, but you wanted all of the extra content. In the states here, that would have cost you $50. So $60 for the game and $50 for that season pass That season pass would have given you access to Peacekeeper.

SMG AR hybrid, four DLCs, including 16 multiplayer maps and four zombie maps, and that's it. That's it for $50. Very close to the price of a full game, you got 16 maps, four zombie maps, and one weapon, similarly in Call of Duty: Ghosts. You have 16 maps, four Extinction experiences, and I believe three weapons—the Ripper, the Mavick, the Mavick Sniper, and the Maverick AR.

So what's funny to me is when Call of Duty decides not to do its traditional annual release that removes everything and instead gives us something that builds on last year's game by allowing us to keep all of our weapons and attachments from the previous game. REITs all movement, all mechanics on spotting and mini map, and how suppressors work, like rekting mechanically the under-the-hood mechanical part of the game, rekting all of it to be more what fans suggested, plus giving us the entire roster of MWW's classic maps, its own single player campaign, which is incredibly shortening from what I've heard really bad, and its own zombies experience, which is similar to both DMZ and Outbreak, but of course unlike in previous games, the prog ression is actually tied across multiplayer and zombies, so you can progress one by playing the other because it's unified.

And I just have trouble with people getting mad that they had to spend $70 on an expansion when you factor in that a battle pass is $10, that an old season pass is $50, or that an old DLC was $15. When you really think about it, it's $70. For that, if that's an expansion, that's a massive expansion.

The game even features some of the maps from Modern Warfare 2 put into a playlist, and while I think all of the Modern Warfare 2 maps and post-launch maps should be in this game's own playlist, you can select either Modern Warfare 3's collection of maps, which would be MW2 09's and all of their post-launch maps, or the MW2 maps from last year.

I think you should be able to do that so you don't have to go back to the old game and the old mechanics to play on maps you might have really enjoyed last year. I think they really should have dived into being an expansion. But the game serves as its own product, its own new article game with its own new weapon roster perk system mechanics campaign and zombies experience.

It's also, in some ways, a remaster of the original Modern Warfare 2 by having the entire roster of classic maps and an expansion by allowing us to maintain all of our original weapons and attachments from the previous title. The fact that I could still build my loadout from MW2 in this game with a better perk system but with the same grenade field upgrade gun and attachment, Ms., is unique.

That's unique for Call of Duty. I like that everything I did last year actually matters in the new title, so it's a remaster expansion new game wrapped up all into one for only $20 more than what you would have paid to get a season pass back in the day, back in the day to get, let's say, infinite Warfare Modern Warfare remastered.

And the season pass it was $100, that might have been the best bargain we've ever seen that's two [__] full games of their own progression systems and an entire year's worth of content drops for a 100 bucks plus it like doubled your daily login reward There are bundles in Modern Warfare 3 that cost more than the difference between a season pass of an old Call of Duty game and this current game.

There are $25 bundles in this game; there are $30. Black Cell Battle passes if you're a Cod fan willing to spend $60 or $70. Every year for the next CoD game, I'm not exactly sure how this is an issue now. To be fair, the only thing that's really making me make this article is that we have an entirely new set of mechanics.

Because we have an entirely new set of mechanics, a new Crea class system With new movement mechanics, everything's been revised. It really does feel like a new game to me. I can tell that it's a Modern Warfare 2 skeleton. I can tell that these are maps I played on as a kid back in 2010. I can tell all of that, but they didn't just ship us Modern Warfare 2 with a bunch more stuff; they did make their own Call of Duty game and then gave us most of our stuff from that previous title, and so much of what they did to the game was feedback-driven.

And again, nothing carries over. Call of Duty releases one year, and then the next year builds on the previous title, so you're not spending 12 months building up just to buy the next CoD game and lose all your progress.
