News - Fortunes Keep And Ranked Resurgence Coming To Warzone Season 2
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard TCAP the next, so I got invited by Call of Duty to be flown out to LA to go to Treyarch Studios. and play season 2 of Call of Duty: War Zone early. And first, I'm going to ask if you're a Resurgence player. I'm probably going to be very excited about some of the stuff I have to say.
Also, to note. I am currently in my hotel room in LA because I'm trying to film this to get it out to you guys as soon as possible because when the Embargo lifts are basically when I'm allowed to tell you guys this. I'm going to be on a plane back to Ohio. So number one Fortune's keep is returning.
but so is ranked: resurgence on Fortune's keep Yes, you heard that right-ranked is going to be in resurgence. not in Battle Royale this season, now you're probably wondering what about ranked Battle Royale on Zikan. Well, we were told that it's coming, but it doesn't seem like in season 2, ranked in season 2, there will be a resurgence.
I also asked if Fortune Keep would be available for both ranked and regular public matches, or non-ranked. We were simply told we'd have to wait until the playlist update was announced, when season 2 launches on February 7th, so as far as things like map rotations go between Fortunes Keep Ashika and Vondal, we don't really know how that's going to work quite yet, although they did say that they are definitely planning on rotating and having different playlists, so let's get into what else new is coming to season 2 and how ranked Resurgence on Fortunes Keep is going to work first.
When it comes to the map, the overall blueprint is very similar to what we had back in War Zone 1, but there are plenty of changes to different points on the map, and different areas have gotten a little bit of a facelift. One of the most noticeable changes is that the entire water around the map is now swimmable, and you can go in it and swim around literally the entire map.
As far as the timeline of kind of the story behind Fortune Keep, we're told that this is about 40 years into the future since we've last been there back in War Zone 1, the season is currently in the fall, the lighting or Skybox is a nice blue color; it's nothing like kind of the gray asika. It's a more similar lighting to how vond is or ukhan.
Some of the areas felt like the island had been abandoned or kind of dilapidated. but then other areas have been kind of taken over by a new militia, and we were told this is the Coney group. In the war zone story line, for example, in the big Grotto area or the main underground area, there's a big weapons lab now down there, and the underground area has kind of filled in and been brought up closer to the surface, and that is due to the earthquakes.
and fissures and cracks that have formed on the map because of kind of this weapon testing that has been going on by the Coney group and so with those fissures and cracks there's going to be several different buildings throughout the map that you'll notice that are completely kind of cracked or Fallen apart and have kind of created new routes around the map because of that for example the winery area there's a huge fissure that runs through it that you can drop straight down into the wine cellar, another cool area about the wine Celler is there is a way that you can dynamically flood or drain the cellar with water where you can go up to a big kind of switch and turn it on and water will start to come in objects will dynamically float up to the surface, when you do that coming in season 2 reloaded there's also going to be a very large boat that goes around the entire.
map of Fortune Keep that seems like I'll have plenty of loot and also a buy station on it as well, so now let's explain how exactly ranked is going to work in Resurgence and on Fortune Keep. So just like in Battle Royale and in War Zone 2, ranked on Alaza, we're going to have those eight skill divisions, so bronze, silver, gold, and so on, all the way up to iridescent, and then the top 250, and then, of course, there will be Sr., or the points you earn to go up in ranks, and you earn those by a combination of your placement and also the amount of kills you get in game.
In first place, we'll get 100 points. The top three are 80, the top five are 60, the top eight are 40, and the top 12 are 20 senior points. As far as the size of the lobby goes, there will be 17 teams of three to make up 51 players, and of course, this will just be trios for ranking. There will also be a deployment fee, so bronze will have a free fee, and then as you go up in ranks, you'll get more deployment fees.
If you start with negative Sr iridescent, it goes all the way up to. 110 points, but as you climb into the top 250, you can have as high as 180. Sr deployment feed the way Sr is rewarded for kills is a little bit different now though kills and assists will be the same amount of Sr, and you'll get more points for this depending on how many teams are left so for example getting a kill in the fin final three teams is worth much more than if you were to get a kill at the very beginning of the game also another thing that is new is if you get an unassisted, kill or essentially let's say your teammate gets a kill and you had nothing to do with assisting that you will still get some points but not as much now a question we did ask was what about Taps so if you familiar with ranked previously, you had to tap your opponents meaning once somebody was down you would need to go up and shoot them once or twice to get that assist unfortunately Taps are still in the game although they're not as important since now you will get points for unassisted kills or kills by your squadmates, however the devs did talk about and say that they are looking at ways to try to find an ecosystem.
in the range environment where tapping is not necessary and they don't have any current information to give us, but they are very well aware of it and would like to find an option where that doesn't exist now. A very new thing coming, though, is that there is What's called the death fee? So every time you die, you will actually lose Sr, and this depends again on what rank you are, so if you're a bronze-level player just starting out, there's no death fee, but it will go up with each rank you go up.
Silver is -1; gold, I believe, was -2, going up all the way to iridescent and the top 250 of 7. For every time you die, basically saying you can't just go Reckless and go out and die and keep getting brought back by the Resurgence timer, there will also be things like senior forgiveness, so you will have three games where you cannot go back to the lower rank if you get disconnected from the game, things like that if a teammate lags out or leaves, you will not be penalized for that game.
