News - Warzone 2: New Camo Update, Triple Xp Event, More. Mw2 Update
Coming up next week, we've got Season 2 reloaded. This is going to be our next major update for War Zone 2. DMZ, and MW2, and of course just yesterday we got the whole initial reveal for it, going over a handful of changes and gameplay updates that are coming with the patch itself. Well, now that we have some additional details.
I wanted to dive into them in regards to a few of these specific updates that are happening, including. Our brand new camo update, which is pretty exciting and something that we really haven't seen much of at all in recent years. We also have some guaranteed map updates coming now, and there's also been a change of plans when it comes to our next XP event that, quite frankly, maybe makes things a bit more convenient for players all around.
New xp event update for warzone 2 & modern warfare 2
In fact, let's We'll actually start with that here today. Actually, right now, on the day that this article is going up, we were supposed to be having sort of a triple threat event, if you will, with some double XP. Double battle pass XP and double weapon. XP but Call of Duty actually went ahead and changed the dates on this and pushed it back to next weekend, so now when it comes to our next triple threat event, as they used to call them, at least on the 16th going to the 17th.
PlayStation is going to have its exclusive just double XP day. That's basically what you get for playing on the PlayStation: some bonus XP for a whole day. Keep in mind, though, that is just rank XP. That's not for your weapons or your battle pass; that's just your overall seasonal rank, quite frankly.
Not the most important element of the game if I'm being honest, but more importantly, starting on the 17th and then going through the 20th, we have our Triple Threat event for all platforms, so Xbox. PlayStation, and PC will have access to double rank XP, double battle pass tokens, or double battle pass XP, whatever you want to call it, and most importantly, that double weapon XP.
Now this is especially convenient, as I said, since obviously, we have Season 2 Reloaded going live on the 15th, so just two days after that update drops featuring a brand new weapon, we are going to have that double XP event, and while it hasn't been officially announced yet, all the leaks and rumors are pointing towards the same weekend, basically the 16th through the 20th, featuring that free multiplayer.
If you will and take full advantage of the XP event, you can access multiplayer for free, level up weapons super quickly, and if you are just a free-to-play player, work on camos and that battle pass as well all at the same time, so it's kind of the "Perfect Storm," if you will. I definitely wanted to update you guys on that, though I already have seen some comments saying, "You know Zach," and I thought we were supposed to have double XP right now.
What happened to the XP event? That's basically the dealio. If you will, it's been pushed back a week for these season 2 reloaded episodes, so honestly, I feel like that's the better scenario when it comes down to it now.
New camo update coming to warzone 2 & mwii
As mentioned yesterday, we did get the reveal blog for season two, and it had a lot of details about some of the gameplay changes. Admittedly, it seems like multiplayer was the main focus this time around, which is definitely not a bad thing, but overall, the content you're offering still seems a bit lackluster.
It was a lot of bundles, a lot of hey there's an operator that's based around Shredder now it's all paid to experience, not as many free gameplay updates, which is kind of a downside, but a few specific things that you might not have caught in that initial blog since we really just skimmed over the main highlights.
There were the camo event specifics, which were actually detailed here as well as a few fine print details that you might have missed initially, so when the launch of Season 2 Reloaded happens, the Path of Rin is actually going to completely change, so all the current challenges are based around the virtues of multiplayer, so And Warzone are no longer going to be available, which means if you are looking to gain any of the rewards for the individual challenges, whether it's that MP7, blueprint, or some of the stickers, charms, or calling cards, you only have until Season 2 Reloaded to actually unlock those.
With that said, you might be wondering what exactly is going on with the crossbow. Well, that is actually going to remain accessible now that there is a store bundle already available, so if you want to just outright buy the crossbow, you can do that, and it's available there. However, if you want to get it for free, you'll still be able to, even though the path of ronin challenges is not there.
So now they say in these blog details that as a part of the Season Two Reloaded update, the initial path of ronin challenges will be removed. Then, before the update, you can earn all the related rewards. The crossbow-free functional weapon will still be available to unlock via a new challenge in "The Division," which is to get 50 long-shot kills with marksmen and rifles alternatively.
Or, additionally, a weapon blueprint is available through the store, so honestly, that seems like an easier challenge than the event itself. It's way more straightforward, and you don't have to do a bunch of different random things. Just simply completing 50 long-shot kills with a marksman rifle will give you access to that crossbow if you have not already completed the Path of Ronin challenges themselves.
That is individual camo challenges for every single weapon category. Now we have two new camo patterns coming with Season Two Reloaded: the Winds of Ash and the Bowing Blossoms, and these are going to be unlocked in two separate ways. For bowing blossoms, you have to complete the camo challenge for every single individual weapon category, so rifles are battle rifles.
SMGs, LMGs, and shotguns Marks and rifles, snipers handguns Melees and launchers all have their own unique challenges. Now once you complete the challenge for that given weapon category, you'll end up unlocking The Winds of Ash camo for those specific weapons, and they actually do detail all these specific weapon category challenges, so for assault rifles, you have to get 125 headshot kills through eliminations, so 125 headshot kills and you'll get The Winds of Ash camo for all the rifles for battle rifles.
You have to get 75 headshots and you'll get the wins of Ash camo for all the battle rifles for SMGs; you have to get 100 headshots and you'll get that camo for the subs for LMGs. Get 75 headshots for shotguns. Get 50 headshots as a marksman with rifles, 50 headshots as a sniper, 50 headshots with handguns, and 30 headshots in melees.
