To kick things off at number 10, there's a cast-off of 762 with a 2.5 percent pick. Gun is one of my favorite guns on the list, probably one of my top three personal favorites, but it just barely sneaks into the top 10. This shows that Modern Warfare 2's assault rifle category is absolutely dominant, and a 2.5 pick rate is way lower than what I would have guessed with the right attachments.
Even if you are just using two or three, the cast-off 762 is an absolute laser; that's perfect for holding down lanes and hardpoints or dominating. Next, at number nine, we have the Signal 50 with a 2.7 rating; pick, rate; this is the most popular sniper rifle in Modern Warfare 2. The Signal 50 is technically the most popular sniper rifle in Modern Warfare 2 with a 2.7 percent pick rate, but two marksman rifles haven't beaten it in terms of popularity, and while they're categorized as such, they're mainly used as sniper rifles.
The good news is that the Signal 50 puts up a good bit of competition with the two lighter mod rifles; it's a semi-automatic heavy sniper that deals a ton of damage. You won't feel as snappy as some of the other options, but its popularity stems from its dominance and stationary positions. Next at number eight, we have the Lochman sub with the 2.9 pick, rate The LACMA sub is essentially an MP5, which is one of, if not the most iconic weapon in the Call of Duty franchise; therefore, it is no surprise to see it coming at number eight with the 2.9 pick rate.
Originally, it was the most dominant weapon in the beta, but as players spent more time with the Lochman sub, they realized that some weapons outclassed it; nonetheless, it's still a lightning-quick option with an excellent damage range in Modern Warfare 2. And at number 7, we have the M4 with a 3.2 percent pickup rate.
The M4 has always been a dominant weapon in the Call of Duty franchise, and at number six with a 3.2 pick rate, as well as the Fennec 45, which is essentially a variation of the Vector, the popularity and model of the FedEx 2 stem from its dominance in War Zone 2. Since the launch of Warzone 2, the Fennec 45 submachine gun has been the undisputed number one submachine gun.
Gun option players flock to Modern Warfare 2 to level up the weapon, and its 3.2 percent pick rate proves that some stuck with it even after the grind. It kills incredibly fast, but it's not without a crazy recoil pattern that will require some pretty decent skills to keep under control. I greatly appreciate it.

With a 5.2 percent pick rate, the spr is the first of two marksman rifles to appear on the list, and it is in the top five most popular weapons in Modern Warfare 2 with the 5.2 percent pick rate The sniping community loves the quick scoping aspect of sniping, and you can certainly build the SPAR 208 with some super fast ABS speed.
It's one of the first weapons that players unlock at level 7, which further adds to its popularity, and it certainly is so satisfying to pull off a few kills with the SPAR 208 in quick succession, and at number four we have the Sab 50. With a 6.1 percent pick rate, the Sab 50 follows up the SPR 208 with a 6.1 percent pick rate.
It takes the cake as the most popular marksman rifle in Modern Warfare 2, and players who gravitate toward sniper rifles absolutely love it. It's in the same weapon class as the spr, and it has similar qualities as a result. The Sab 50 boasts impressive speed and agility, but it also has incredible precision, which sets it apart from the Spr-208.
And at number three, we have the cast-off 74U with the 8.4 pick, rate The cast-off study for you was considered so powerful at the start of Modern Warfare 2 that it was banned in the CDO. This gun was a monster during the beta weekends. I had a lot of fun with this weapon, but I have not used it much since launch, despite it not appearing in CDO matches.
The cast-off 74u remains one of the most used weapons in the game with an 8.4 pick rate. You'll notice that there was a major jump in popularity from fourth to third, and this comes down to just how dominant the top three weapons are in Modern Warfare 2. This, despite being classified as an assault rifle the cast of 74u is best used as a submachine gun.
It's an incredibly fast time to kill, and its impressive speed makes it very difficult to deal with in close quarters. At number two, we have the Vasnav 9K with a 9.4 Pick Rate. The vasnav is another weapon that absolutely dominates close range in Modern Warfare 2. However, advanced players can also make the weapon very effective at medium range.
The unexpected multi-purpose-like qualities make it difficult to ignore, and with a 9.4 percent pick rate, only one weapon has it beat in terms of popularity: the vasnav. The vasnav is currently the meta SMG weapon in the CDL; therefore, it should continue its dominance in Modern Warfare 2's ranked play mode and throughout season two.
At number one, we have the attack 56, with a 10.1 percent pick rate, the most popular weapon in Modern Warfare 2. With a dominant 10.1 percent pick rate, it is the only weapon to hit a double digit pick rate, and the assault rifle modeled after the classic Scar is not going anywhere in season two and probably for the entire lifespan of Modern Warfare 2.
Much like the Vasnav, the Tax 56 is the meta assault rifle option for Call of Duty League Pros, and it will continue to be a go-to option in rank play. This assault rifle will feel familiar and nostalgic to players with its unique and clean iron sight that positions players in its deadly ring. This feels very similar to Modern Warfare 2 (2009), Scar, and I absolutely love it oftentimes.
I add camo such as urban camo just because that weapon and camo combination reminds me of a time where things were a lot more simple. The TAC 56 is also very easy to control and doesn't have too bad of a recoil even with no attachments on at all, which will allow you to hit the majority of your shots.
