News - Season 2 Will Change Warzone 2 Forever - Goodbye Fennec 45 & Rpk
Intro
Warzone, season 2, is around the corner, and they have dropped some generic but also some very specific information already. They're really working on bringing the game back to more Warzone 1 and less Warzone 2. I think we're going to try to find a middle ground because, at this point. Warzone 2 was not made for players worse than one; they tried a lot of new things, and some of them were good; most of them were.
It wasn't just a well-done package. I do believe that season two is going to be the best version of Warzone 2 that we've had so far. Let's look at what's happening in.
Season 2 info
Season 2 will be launching on February 15th, but it may get a little delayed. Our studios have been making several changes based on what we've heard from our player community, which means it's completely data-driven and they don't actually listen to us.
Season 2 includes all new content with the return of Resurgence and a brand new small map, but this is a two-thing, so we have a brand new small map and we're surgeons, which means we might also get Almazara. Resurgence, and smaller parts of the map with the respawn timer as well. This could be super fun on El Mazara, plus there's a brand new map.
You might have seen the league in December. I'll actually show you the leak here. You know, for legal reasons and also because rank plays are back for the Modern Warfare 2 players.
Gulag
Along with new multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and more, That's the very generic information that I was talking about, but there are also some specific ones, like the fact that the 1v1 Gulag is returning over the 2v2 Gulag. Now, the 2v2 Gulag has been kind of the centerpiece of War Zone 2, one of the bigger changes, and a lot of people have been upset about it.
I don't know what the average casual player's opinion is here because, for me, it has been super fun, but I'm also not an ultra-sweat try. Harding says that every day I laugh when my teammate is good and when my teammate is bad. It can be frustrating in between, yes, but most of the time I've actually been saved by my teammate more than I've been let down, or I've been winning some absolute banger one-on-ones, which obviously makes for great stream clips.
Looting
I mean, a lot of people didn't like the looting where you go in the backpack and you have to sort through because it kind of favors mouse and keyboard players and control players was a bit fiddly, but, now if you have a big backpack player with 12 items in there. I mean, we need ammunition. Auto-pick-up plates auto pickup and, grenades tacticals, lethals Auto pickup because then, when you run or scoop through a player's loot, at least you're going to soak up more or less the basic items already, and there's less on the ground left still.
If there's like four self-resties suddenly cluttered on top of each other and a couple of air strikes and whatsoever, and then the airstrike is lying under a self-rest and you're not going to see it, the loot needs to be actively having a collision factor where the loot bounces off each other, but, still, if you kill like two big backpack players in one room, you're going to feel like the Harry Potter movie where you just get drowned in these chalice while you're trying to find the horcrux.
Let's cut them some slack. These are two already very good changes, plus the Resurgence map, plus obviously getting the Resurgence itself back, which I've been saying since day one could be great on El Mazara. There are more changes coming though, because these two things show us one thing: we're going back to a more "War Zone 1-esque" playstyle where we can expect sprinting and plating at the same time the most.
Likely, something slight will cause a reversal. I don't think the movement will change as well. No, we can't maybe shoot while sliding more; no, probably also not, but they're going to be accommodating a little bit more towards an active movement play style without leaning 400 into it like they did with Warzone 1.
I don't want to hurt anybody, but they're worse than the Warzone Movement, which only favored controller players. Yes, there are very few talented mouse and keyboard players. The whole movement they're spinning around the slight canceling of the camera all, that stuff, it made a huge part of the player base just not enjoy the game, and yes, there are these absolute movement specialists that have been making very cool clips and what so not and whatsoever and if you put in a lot of training I think it's really worth it but, that's, just not what the Casual player does, and that's where they created War Zone 2, and that's why we're also most likely not going to get that movement apparatus back, so don't hope for this.
I'll keep you updated over the weekend, and if there's another big banger update list coming, especially the patch notes, I'll have you covered, especially with weapon tuning.
