News - No More Shotgun Hitmarkers. Building Warzone 2 Shotguns The Right Way (they Don't Suck)

The ultimate hipfire build

The ultimate hipfire build

Again, kind of piggybacking off of the last tip, this is in regards to being more about hip firing and making it more consistent. Then, I need to introduce you to the hipfire build. I've seen quite a few people try it and really seem to swear by it.

I made an entire article for it going over each shotgun individually, so check that out if you want some serious detail, but to give you the rundown, the idea is to make a class that has such a tight hip fire spread that you can get some serious one-tap potential consistently, even at really long ranges, so long as you can hit fire well.

It's more difficult than it sounds, but my God, it is devastating in the right hands when you get good at it. The secret is to use the biggest barrel. The Bryson choke for the Bryson and expedite, and then for the lock, you would use the Series 12 choke on the point G3P, laser on the sawed-off stock mod, and the secret is any of the grips with a handle in the Under Barrel Grips category.

My go-to is, I think, the VX Pineapple, because most people have it unlocked and it's readily available to tune. That grip for hipfire accuracy, and bam, you got the tightest spread, and you got something so tight that even Tuka would be proud. Yeah, it's high-risk. high reward, and you've got to be good with your hip firing, but if you've got the aim for it, just practice with it, and I promise it'll amaze you how good it can truly be.

Slugs are great!

Slugs are great!

Now in my opinion, slugs don't often get enough love, and I'm here to tell you that if you want consistent one-shot offense, maybe you should try slugs.

I mean, yeah, the basic thing about this is that your shotgun is more of a rifle now; it's sort of a mini Marksman rifle. Really, the thing about slugs is that, even though they're harder to use and more difficult to use, you can get pretty decent one-shot kills with them and consistent ones. Slugs tend to have a one-shot kill range for the stomach at a certain distance, for the chest at a larger distance, and for the head at an even more ridiculous distance.

The Bradys are pretty solid, as is the Lockwood, which has an infinite-range one-shot headshot as well, but they're tough to use because of the slower muzzle velocity. They also have the weird "bloom," where they don't always go where you aim at longer ranges, and just overall difficulty in use. Hitting your shots will generally net you a one-shot kill.

You just have to know when to hit your shot. I found it the best whenever I was playing a little bit closer to shock and range just a little bit further out, not trying to go for Marksman rifle kills but just going for shocking kills that are just a little bit further out; that is really, in my opinion, the sweet spot to do slugs.

As for explosive slugs, they usually feel better overall, but bomb squad negates the one-shot kill for them, so I don't recommend them as much because any wise player is just going to equip it against you and just ruin your day. So generally, I say go with normal slugs, and it just feels like a Lobby out if you want to switch.

I know this is probably a weird tip, but trust me, slugs are good. Just give them a chance. They just take practice, and hey, the enemy can't really get mad at you for using slugs.

But these tips have greatly reduced my hip markers, and I promise you they will help you too. Just make sure to actually follow some of them and try some of these builds out because they can get ridiculously difficult, and I think you'll have a lot of fun with them too. I know shotguns are just a little bit wonky at times, but you've got to aim; that's the really important thing.
