The massive season 2 update for Modern Warfare 2. DMZ, and Warzone 2 has just dropped, and we're going to dive into all the big changes you need to know as a lot of things are changing for the better and there's quite a lot to go through, which I'm really happy about, so sit down, get comfortable, and subscribe if you're new here.

Starting with the first massive change, "going to be a change to the enemy," tuning now Infinity towards, say, in season one, the AI and DMZ were challenging, but the ramp up of difficulty was often steep with some players getting overwhelmed, which I completely agree with, and in season 2, they're introducing a number of balance changes to adjust the types of AI spawning, the number of AI spawns, the accuracy of AI at range, and much more, which is incredibly.

In my opinion, all of this should provide a challenging but manageable play space that still requires player respect for enemy combatants in the DMZ. Now spawn points are also changing, and they're tuning some of the info points across our map for an improved early-match experience based on gameplay data.

Since starting at a point at which your squad feels isolated or without loot and contract opportunities is not the best experience, tweaks should improve spawn points across the mode. Now, we know that throughout season one they already adjusted some of the spawn points because you could be spawning right near another team and you could snipe them from the moment that you started, which is not great, so it sounds like that's also going to be adjusted now.

Another huge change that we knew about with this update is going to be changes to the faction missions, and this is specifically with difficulty tuning, so if anything, we would have said that data and feedback reinforce that the faction mission difficulty ramp was too aggressive for many players, and the demanding scale ultimately made it very challenging to get all your tier 3 missions completed and unlock the second insured weapon slot in season one.

They've adjusted the overall scaling of difficulty in missions as the tiers progress, so later missions will still be quite challenging. for an experienced player, but they believe more straightforward access to an additional insured slot will provide a better path forward for all players now. Whilst that wording is a little bit complicated, what it sounds like in layman's terms is that they're going to be making the tier 2 and tier 3 missions a little bit easier than what they currently are.

So if, like myself, you've already done all that and you're basically on Tier 5 at this point, nothing's really going to change, but according to the data, some more n00b players are struggling to get Tier 3 missions completed, so they're probably going to change how those work. This could be as simple as just tuning down how many items you might need to x-fill with or put into a dumpster for Dead Drop, as an example, but by their wording of adjusting the overall scaling of difficulty of emissions as the tiers progress, it sounds like even late emissions might become a little bit easier.

I'm not too sure, but we'll just have to wait and see. This next big point is so important, and it's about crashes. They know that crashes are especially impactful in the DMZ if you lose your items and contraband weapons as a result, and addressing those crashes is a priority for them in season two.

They are committed to increasing stability, and they said to stay tuned for more specifics on this. Another thing is seasonal: refresh. All new missions are coming to season two, including a refresh of the current faction's mission progress and an inventory reset that is something I was not expecting.

What on earth are they doing by going down the route of escape from Tarkov wipes, where they're getting rid of all of your current faction mission progress and all of your inventory? So that means all of your contraband weapons and all of your keys are going to be reset on season two, and they're going to be coming with a detailed list of all the Intel for the DMZ head of season two and a lot coming up.

Below on that is a really interesting thing to do, and of course by doing that it's sort of putting players back on a level playing field where they do not have this big stash and inventories that we've all been building since its launch in November, so that'd be really interesting, and the last thing is on locations, on DMZ with a new exclusion zone coming to season two, which is pretty much another word for a new map, players will have a third option to choose from when deploying in DMZ with the faction mission refresh.

which will provide missions that send you across these destinations, including Building 21, which means we're going to have new missions in our manual and in Building 21 specifically, and new missions in this new location, so this is exactly what the DMZ needs, in my opinion, to completely refresh it when season 2 drops, which is amazing.

Now a massive change coming to the entire game, so this will include the DMZ war zone and the like, is going to be about audio, and they have data to suggest that some PC players may be experiencing audio issues due to discrepancies in the number of channels they are outputting, but investigation into player reports regarding audio led them to identify a previously unknown issue impacting occlusion across the game.

Audio occlusion is a filter that is applied based on the type of material that an object or structure is composed of primarily. Based on its thickness and how it blocks the full frequency of sound, only large structural objects should apply the filter, but they found smaller items like a stapler or a pile of rags on the ground that are causing the filter to turn on when it shouldn't have.

For example, a waste basket that was tagged with the incorrect material may have occluded the sound like it was behind a wall, making a sound more difficult for a player to hear. This issue will be addressed in season two, and they continue to work on fixes and new audio features to improve the player experience.

Another huge thing we've all complained about is the UI of the game. The menus are just really bad, and they've added a number of UI, AI, and UX updates to season 2 to improve the flow of in-game menus. Some of these updates will include improved navigation and organization in Camos, a more polished social tab, including improved channel swapping and player muting.

My bundle screen is quick; I equip items from Battle Pass, my bundles, and the store previews; I buy reticle in the store; and my gunsmithing skills improve. Clarity of attachment blocking logic in the gunsmith has many more bug fixes, and they've just introduced a fix that restores instant speed of recent players in the menu and status refresh of friends.
