News - How Warzone 2 Can Be Saved
There's a lot to say about looting and the UI in general, but I think the best place to start for me is just having multiple people in a bag at the same time. If you've played any of the team-based modes, your teammates are already looking into a bag; you can't look into that at the same time, and maybe that's to try and help, duplicate, loot, or whatever.
I think a lot of people don't even like the bag system at all. I love the fact that you can carry as many things as you can and that it is streamlined. It from where it was in the alpha is far better for Warzone at least, but as you have those things in your bag say you call in an airstrike and you have another one in your bag, it doesn't auto-fill back into your, main slot, you have to go into it and pull it out same thing when you're looting something off the ground if you want to equip that into your main slot it doesn't put the item that's already in your bag into your bag; it just throws it onto the ground.
It'd be nice if you had an open slot in your bag and could just toss it on into the back, and I think what would help with those bags, as well as just floor looting in general, would be proximity. Now. I'm not saying that extreme, it's more like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which is an even better reference, but you go up to an area and it shows all the loot and proximity of you as you're looting it.
If you've got a pile of four dead bodies on top of each other because people are camping the wall and you drill charge them, it becomes extremely hard to loot a mountain of loot even when you walk over it. Yes, there is auto-loot for like your ammunition or plates, but it's so inconsistent that you could even be prone to needing assault rifle ammo when you're holding an assault rifle and trying to get the right angle to pick it up, and it still forces you to hit the interact key to pick it up, but you can't even get the angle for it, or you accidentally swap your gun, and now your gun's like underneath a curb or in a wall and you can't get it at all.
This was some big problems that we even saw back in Battlefield Firestorm. And, some of the concerns we had initially when Warzone came out were because it had a similar looting mechanic, but they made a lot of improvements to it to the point where now it feels like we've gone backwards here. Just like with the pinging system, this should be more similar to how it was in War Zone 1.
I'd say you'd have to completely remove the color from being there at all or just make it as it was in the last system. I made a article on how you can change that color to a pink icon, and it got way too many views like this is a massive problem that really shouldn't even be one. When you go to the friends list, there are four different tabs, and the showcase is kind of the one we're used to; the other ones only show like three friends at a time.
It seems like there's just so much duplication of things that don't even need to be there in the first place. We're also missing the menu for spray paints or gestures; the animations that are set up for the guns are incredible, and that was some of the most fun things that you could do in the last game, the gestures specifically.
If they didn't add spray paint. I really wouldn't care, but you know something that was very fun that's now missing in Warzone too, as well as moving while mounted, mounting. Staying on a wall and being able to move left and right makes it harder to hit. This might be much more of an overall gameplay decision for the game, just like removing slide canceling and removing the YY I actually like the fact that they've removed that YY, canceling your reload, from the game.
If you already threw a magazine onto the ground, you shouldn't be able to just cancel it and put it back in there, and there are a ton of elements in this game that are not for the sake of realism. I mean, even talking about ammo, when you reload with one bullet missing, somehow those bullets that were in the magazine just magically come back, but that is definitely a gameplay decision to make it more fun and more enjoyable, and more understandable, for everybody that's going to play the game.
I don't know. But they've also simplified perks. You can't customize your perk package in this, and my guess is that this is just temporary as more players learn the game, so it's not completely overwhelming, especially for newer players who probably don't even have all the perks leveled up because they are at such a low level, but even the perks that are in these packages are just weird packages to set up.
I tweeted that whoever made these is completely trolling because even the ones that are there, like "high alert," don't give you high alert; they give you a quick fix. How has this not even been fixed in the game's restock? It doesn't work at all, but one of the biggest things that pissed me off was specifically when I was leveling guns.
It's just crazy to me how bad of a job they constantly do with this, but of course they benefit from it because then we have to go get even more double XP because it burns off so damn quickly. That's why they don't fix it if you didn't know you were getting it, but now you know you have it. Now. I was thinking if they had a navigation system like GTA, where you put a point on the map and it directs you just on the TAC map; it doesn't need to be a visible thing in front of you, how helpful that would be, especially if they did go down the road of releasing even more maps, say.
Los Alamos; I'm sure we'll learn the map eventually; this will be a no-brainer, but how helpful is that when your teammate pings something and you just beeline for it in a car and fly off a cliff and break the whole car, or you go into a trench? Not getting gulags because of how long they take to sometimes fill a 2v2, it's great to just come back for free, but more so in solos.
I've noticed that there are a lot of times where I'll just sit there and have to wait a minute, and it just takes me out of the experience, especially when there's nothing to really do in the gulag and you can't even watch the other people fighting because nobody's there. On top of that, twice now when I have tried to team up with the other team to kill the Juggernaut, they have even agreed with me; they were like, "Yeah, let's do it." We were standing there waiting for the Juggernaut to come into the jail, and he never came, so I don't know if that is a bug or if that is intended, but is it supposed to be like that or does it need to be fixed?
There's map visibility, in particular with the strongholds in the loadout. You can still go to a stronghold that's already been used and get your loadout, or you can still go to a loadout that's already been used by another team and utilize it. What I've been doing is taking a screenshot when they come in, so I know exactly where all of them are, and I leave them on my second monitor.
