News - Warzone 2. 0 On Xbox Series S
60 fps mode
Today we're going to check out War Zone 2 on Xbox One. This game is free to play on all platforms, including Xbox. You don't even need any subscriptions like Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus. Visually, the game looks very similar to War Zone 1; of course, we now have a new map. Performance-wise on the Series S Unfortunately, I did notice frame rate drops.
On launch day here, I'm running the game in 60 hertz mode, which is 4K upscaled, and you can see the drops in the frame rate into the 50s early in the gameplay when I'm dropping in. Now, I did note that the frame rate stabilized at 60 FPS later in the game, so lag might be to blame for the earlier drops.
I saw—I mean, the servers were pretty loaded on the first day of release once; it stabilized at 60 from that point onward and pretty much stuck at a solid 60. Warzone 2 can also run at 120 frames per second if you have a 120 hertz monitor.
120 fps mode
For that, you go into the console settings and make sure the refresh rate is set to 120 hertz. There are actually no other settings in the game menu. Here's some gameplay of me playing at 120 Hz. Now, you won't see a live counter here, but after I analyze the footage, I can say the frame rate averages around 80 to 90 FPS on Xbox Warzone.
Mouse and keyboard
Since Xbox 2 also supports a mouse and keyboard, you should be able to just plug the devices in and they should work. In that case, you might get paired with more PC players in your lobby for the rest of the article. Check out some gameplay on the Xbox series.
