News - Modern Warfare 3 Is Getting Warzone 2 (2022) Maps. Mw3 Multiplayer Details

afghan

A blog drop for Modern Warfare 3 outlining what's happening with the core of multiplayer—that's the maps and the game modes—and the new Intel that has me really excited is that the Modern Warfare 2 maps are going to be added to Modern Warfare 3. Let's not be confused with the Modern Warfare 2 2009 maps that are launching with Modern Warfare 3.

The maps that are going to be added are the 2022 and Modern Warfare 2 maps. Those maps are going to be added to Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer. My first impressions were kind of wishy-washy on this kind of thing, like, eh. I mean. I guess I'll take the content, but I'm getting more and more excited the more that I think about it, so there's a bunch of new stuff to get excited about.

I want to start with the maps and then end with the game modes. We have fresh images of all 16 remastered OG MW2. Maps These are the launch maps for Modern Warfare 3. We're not getting anything else; it's just the classic MW2 map experience. There are no new maps other than the ground-war maps, which I'll come back to later on in this article.

I like what they're doing with these maps. I like that they're bringing them back; they're classic maps. I think it's great, and if you've never played them before, you're in for a treat, but if you have played them before, you may be like me and be a little worried that content will get stale after a few weeks, but it looks like Sledgehammer has some plans to alleviate that, and part of that plan is to add the new Modern Warfare 2 maps throughout the seasons.

They confirmed we're getting four maps shortly after launch, so that's going to be before season 1 starts in December. We're probably looking at like around Thanksgiving time. I would imagine, and these four maps include Farm 18. Marado las Alas. I was worried when they announced that these MW2 maps are just going to be some postlaunch filler maps and we're not going to get much new content in this game, but thankfully, these Modern Warfare 2 maps are in addition to the planned content they have for Modern Warfare 3.

carry forward

They reiterated that we're getting three new, never-before-seen 6v6 maps exclusive to Modern Warfare 3 in season 1, and I hope they continue that throughout the remainder of the games. Nostalgia can only go so far, which is why I have mixed feelings about the Modern Warfare 2 maps coming back. I think overall, it is a great thing.

The more maps, the better. That's my motto. Modern Warfare 2 launched with 10 maps, and we ended up with 26 total by the end of the season. Modern Warfare 3 is going to launch with 16 maps, and we'll have at least 23. Now the downsides of this, which I've kind of been hinting at, but you know, reusing maps is kind of lame.

The Sal only goes so far, and we've been rehashing the same maps over and over again. We got Shipman, Shoot House, and Shoot House and Rust, and I'm getting rid of them. I'm skeptical about the claim that Modern Warfare 2 maps are not going to replace the new maps because Call of Duty has been very wishy-washy.

With the way they word things, you have to read between the lines, and it really could mean anything, so we'll see how that plays out, but I think the positives far outweigh the negatives, and I can't help but get excited thinking about all the maps that will be available a few months into the game.

I'm so excited that I've been talking about them way longer than I anticipated. Moving on so moving on the other big part of the blog was the announcement of game modes. We got about a dozen that are confirmed to be available at launch, and that includes Team Deathmatch. Domination. Kill confirmed Search and destroy free-for-all, hardpoint control, gun game Cutthroat, and also hardcore will be available, which is big because hardcore was not available in Modern Warfare 2.

They tried to go with a Tier 1 mode that no one really likes, so it's great to see they're confirming that that's coming back. We also have the big 32 v32 mode, which is ground war and invasion, and the return of war, which was a fan favorite mode from Call of Duty World War II. We'll be getting one war map available at launch and three ground war maps that you're seeing on the screen right now, so tons of tons of content, really exciting stuff.

They also drop some information on operators, but honestly, who cares personally? I don't care about it. There's going to be a lot of them available at launch; that's pretty much all you need to know, so supposedly there's more news coming out daily or at least every other day until the launch of Modern Warfare 3 next week, and if the blogs are as exciting as this one is.

I will be covering them. It looks like multiplayer is finally getting some love. I'm liking this stuff.
