News - How I've Dropped 31. Nukes Warzone 2. 0 (tutorial)
In today's YouTube article, I'm going to be showing you guys a tutorial on how to get a nuke in War Zone 2. So right now I've dropped at least 25 nukes, and my squad and I have a very solid plan going into every single game, so let's start at the very beginning of the game with two of us going for a contract that's in the middle of the map that's not a super hot zone, so slightly away from Zaya Observatory or Hydro.
We want to aim for a contract that's as middle as possible but not so hot that the other two players grab two helis. There are two players to grab helis. We'll go and get gas cans. We prefer to grab the two smaller helis to maneuver around the map better and then later on grab a Pavlo. The Pavlo is super important, so there are only three Pavloes on the map, and you gotta make sure you get at least one of them early enough that it's not destroyed or taken by another player.
So after we grab the two helicopters, we will grab gas cans, and one of us will go secure a Pavlo while the other one will go and pick up the other two teammates. Once we get the Pavlo and the contract started, our next move is to go to the stronghold. When it spawns at 10 seconds into the first round, it will immediately go to a stronghold.
We will speed run the stronghold and then move to the black site; the black site is almost necessary. We get a golden gas mask a large bag to carry more streaks and UAVs, and the advanced UAV is absolutely crucial, as are the golden gas masks. After the black site is secured, we will make sure we get as many streaks as possible from the two chests that spawn there.
So at this point we will all have golden gas masks, large bags, an advanced UAV, and hopefully a paved runway with at least five to six gas cans and another helicopter. This doesn't always go according to plan because people will shoot out your helis, yada yada, and we will focus on picking up the first orb, or element.
The first element puts a giant crown on your head so everyone on the map can see where you are. The goal here is to get that first element, that crown, onto the pavement. Important: This is probably the most important part of the whole process, so you want to wait as long as possible to pick up that first orb.
That's why you want to grab a contract that is as Sinner and Zone as possible so that it allows for as much of the lobby to die off as possible. If the Pavlo player can go pick up the first element by himself, he should do that. If he can't and needs help, if there are people around, all four of you should go secure that area and get the first element into the Pavlo as soon as possible.
The other two elements will not spawn until that first element is picked up, so you've got to be really quick here. Once you pick up that first element and get it in the pavlo, whoever is flying the pavlo is going to fly away and just fly to the edge of the map, just away from as many people as possible, and he should drag all the attention away from the rest of you guys.
So once he's doing his thing in his pavlo with gas cans, he should be fine. Obviously, people will try to shoot you down, so you've got to maneuver very well. You can get chased down by helies; it's not that easy, but it's a lot easier than running around on the ground when you have the whole lobby driving at you.
The next step is that the other three players will go pick up the remaining two elements. You want to speedrun this as fast as possible. You will not be marked on the map, so you can move very quickly. I would pop one UAV per orb if you really need it or if you can save them for the plant at this time, which is probably around zone two or three, and that's when you really want to pick up the second and third orb.
Once you've secured the second and third orbs, you've got to move quickly and be ready to plant the reactor. The nuclear reactor drops, in Zone 4, at the very beginning, there's a trio. In Circle Split, the nuclear reactor doesn't drop until zone five, but in every other game, it drops at the start of zone four, so as soon as zone four starts in a perfect world.
The Pavlo guy is in the air, and the other three players are in a heli, with the other two elements in the air as well. As soon as that nuclear reactor drops, you want to jump out of your heli and meet it as it's hitting the ground. It takes probably 15 to 20 seconds to fall from the sky, so don't jump too early, but as soon as it hits the ground, you want to go and deposit them as quickly as possible and be the first people there.
Now, what really helps with this are the golden gas masks, which self-reseal, and the advanced UAV if, say, the nuclear reactor drops into gas. That is absolutely perfect; you want it to drop into gas as often as possible so you can fly in there and use your golden gas masks. Gather all the elements and get the timer set before anyone can even get to you.
Once that is done, you want to separate and find a strong position that has a very strong angle of the nuclear reactor, and then you just have to wait two minutes and defend it, but if you're in a very strong spot, it shouldn't be too difficult. Not every nuclear reactor is in a very good place. Sometimes they're out in the open where there's not a lot of cover, so you kind of just have to adapt.
Maybe a bush, maybe a building with a view, maybe I'll find some hardcover. You just have to adapt, obviously. That is a perfect plan, but there are almost always some wrinkles in it, so you really have to adapt on the fly. But the most important part is being able to separate. The crown element comes from the other two, so if you have the Pavlo with multiple gas cans and you're away from a contested or congested area, you should be okay.
The other three players should be able to maneuver around the map with UAVs and secure the other two elements very easily. Now, if you don't have a Pavlo or your Pavlo gets shot down, here's a trick: you want to take the crown and bring it to the middle of the zone and drop it. Those before you go back and pick up the crown also, if you drop the crown and no one picks it up for x amount of time, it will show that it resets on the map, so it'll show that it resets to the box that it came in, so even though the crown icon is back in the box where it started, the element is still on the ground right there, and you can pick it up and walk it to the nuclear reactor.
However, this can get very messy if another team has it. You won't know, but they can still have it, so make sure that when you kill people you check their inventory and check the ground around it (where the crown used to be, etc.). This is not a recommended strategy, but it does work. We have set off multiple nukes using this strategy.
