So, it's important to know that there are two separate processes here. There's one for if you have already purchased and played Modern Warfare 2, and there's another one if you are starting from scratch and you do not own Modern Warfare 2 and you just want to play Warzone 2.0, so first up, let's start out for people who currently own and have downloaded Modern Warfare 2.

So if you currently own and play Modern Warfare 2, the process to play Warzone 2.0 is a little bit more complicated.

Modern warfare 2 update

If it says that, that means that you'll have the Season One update already installed on your system; if, not while you click that, you say that the check for an update is not the latest version, then it will go ahead and start the download for Modern Warfare 2 season 1, and it will begin downloading the latest version.

which is important because you need the latest update, which means that you need the Season One update for Modern Warfare 2 in order to play Warzone 2.0 now. Next up, you also need to come down here and view the information you need. I need to make sure that you have the War Zone 2 pack installed on your PlayStation 4.

So in my installed add-ons, it'll show me that I have the War Zone 2 pack installed; you need this pack installed. so make sure that you have that. As long as you have the Warzone 2 pack installed as well as the Season One update, you'll be able to hop in and play Warzone 2.0, no problem now. Let's go over the process for how to play Warzone 2.0 if you do not own Modern Warfare 2.

So it is important to note here that Modern Warfare 2 is not required to play Warzone 2.0. Warzone 2 is free.
